Hey everyone...help me, lol. I'm making a spreadsheet of everyone's Igenix results with IgG and IgM separated...I have Bev, and both of Laura's and of course mine and now Chloe's...

Can you all give me a month that you might have posted your results here so I can narrow my search down. I've just spent 25 minutes trying to search "results"...that was not productive.

I posted mine on page 977... here are my results:

Charlie!!!!

How've you been?????

I'm doing okay, thanks for asking...

the balance symptoms I had upon starting the ABX went away after the first week... but it's been a little rough at times the past 2 weeks with headaches, getting more easily exhausted, and increased brain fog...

I've stripped my diet back down to the basics for a few days, cutting out my "treat" foods like potato chips and tomato sauce... whenever I feel really off for more than a day, I tend to go down to a very basic diet of strictly meats and veggies and then wait to feel decent and lucid for at least a day or 2... I was probably eating too many potato chips anyway, which could have exacerbated any candida symptoms, especially considering the effect that antibiotics also have on candida overgrowth...

I did have my best day of the week today so I think I'm slowly coming out of whatever funk I was in... and I have an appt in 2 weeks with my llmd which will be my 1 month appt on the ABX...

Ditto...dont be a stranger Charlie. :)

Andrea...more about protein diet for detoxification.

This is from Klinghardt:

Detoxification in short words:

1. goat whey

2. oil schedule

3. diet: low carbohydrates, many proteins (amino acids are needed for transportation of mercury). When diet is changed and minerals are supplemented, detoxification can start.

4. Basis of detoxification is the combination of Chlorella, bear's garlic and Chinese parsley.

It is important to say, that strict vegetarians, who don't eat eggs, will get difficulties at detoxification.

Heres more..

Dr. Klinghardt:

1. In all chronic diseases heavy metals play a role. So please don't ask: May heavy metals play a role at my MS or my Morbus Crohn? The question is answered: heavy metals play a role at all

chronic diseases.

2. Heavy metals lead to chronic infections by fungi, bacteria, mycoplasma, viruses. But it is a big mistake to treat these infections without changing the milieu.

3. We all have neuro toxins in our body. Under these neuro toxins mercury has a special importance, because it prevents detoxification. When mercury is removed, then the other toxins

tumble out. Neuro toxins lead to "Neurotoxine mediated chronic illness".

4. Heavy metals are excreted via liver into the bowels and are resorbed again in the colon (enterohepatic cycle). This cycle must be interrupted. The green algae Chlorella pyrenoidosa is

suitable for this. Beginning with 4 x 5 to 6 g per day, this dose may be reduced after 6 weeks.

5. All fish has heavy metal burden; the higher in food chain, the more its contamination (the shark eats many fish, which have eaten many other fishes, is much more contaminated than the

little fish). Therefore pregnant women should not eat fish or, if they do, then with Chlorella (fish breaded with Chlorella).

6. There is a synergistic effect between different treatments for heavy metal excretion. The combination of Chlorella - bear's garlic - Chinese parsley is after all the basis of heavy metal excretion.

7. Heavy metals disturb the fatty acid metabolism, which can result in neurologic defects. But the nerve system may be "repaired" by certain fats and oils.

And this...

During detoxification infections will be visible, because after dropping the mercury the bacteria can once more grow in the body. Heavy metal load induces weakened immune resistance, and so viruses, bacteria and fungi are not really rejected and are chronically at half sleep. But because of the antibiotic property of mercury can not really grow.

If the mercury is now excreted, then these bacteria and viruses get the chance to grow. Result: there is no heavy metal excretion without infection, including muscle pain and headache.

So this must be what Dr. Amy was talking about with the Lyme causing me more symptoms once I start getting these metals out. Sounds like the Lyme is gonna "wake-up". <_<

Thanks Rachel. Copied over......that file is getting larger and larger.

I can see why Dr. Amy things the lyme will wake up. Doesn't have much of a fighting chance to go very far right now I suppose.

I've already warned Mitch that I could have some problems next year after removal. Hope not, but I've learned from what you guys are/have gone through.

You cats are SO SO funny!!!! I do love being talked about whilst I"m gone, you know. ;)

Good to see you over here again Susan. :D We've missed you these last few days.

Love your new avatar. :) I assume we get to see after tomorrow or shortly thereafter?

Rachel, Thanks for the suggestion to e-mail Scott, the better health guy. He e-mailed me back tonight and confirmed that the ART person who I found in town is really good. Wow, that was quick! I'll be calling her as soon as my brain-fogged mind can remember :P ! I feel so much better having a reference!

Donna and Susan ~ I'll be contacting you when I get closer to coming to San Jose and Monterey. I've been to Nepente's too, but always too late to check out the store. I thought the redwoods were waaaay cooler! We found a hollowed out one to do chants in ~ it was a spiritual experience :) .

Off for a bit to see if a certain little boy is ready to go to bed. He didn't wake up from his nap til 5:30 so I don't know if he's really tired or not. That'll teach me to take the children to the playground......even if it was for such a short time......Seth got down a little later than normal.

Hey guys I was just wondering who is Scott and GIGI? Did they have mercury too?

Rachel--24 Collaborator
Hey guys I was just wondering who is Scott and GIGI? Did they have mercury too?

Lisa...they post on a different message board....for Lyme Disease.

Yes, they both had mercury (heavy metal) issues. I think if you asked them they would both say that pretty much everyone with Lyme Disease also has issues with heavy metals.

Likewise, everyone who is mercury toxic also has infections...candida, bacteria, parasites, etc.

Scott lives in my area and we share some of the same Dr.'s.....which is how I came to meet him. He's been involved in learning alot from the Dr.'s and he is now trained for ART....the testing I've talked about alot. He always "assists" the Dr. when she is here so he was also at my appt. last Sunday.

He's just a really nice guy who is still recovering from his own illness but in the process has learned alot and spends a great deal of time helping others.

He has his own website which has alot of info about Lyme, heavy metals, mold, detox and a whole lot of other info.

Open Original Shared Link

Anyways, both Scott and Gigi focused on detox to get better....they both use ART to guide them through treatment and basically have already done the things which I'm just now starting to do.

I do the same type treatments that they've done....see the same type of doctors.... so I learn alot from their experiences.

OK I don't want to be a negative nellie, and I *have* misdefined local lingo in Rachelville before, but w/out more details I can't help but question any claim of 'carla-ization'. In fact, at the next council mtg I'll propose that any such claim undergo peer review.

'Cause I *remember* the donut story. And that's a pretty extreme example of restraint. Wasn't it just a single bite per week? ONE QUARTER of one donut? Not just resisting the siren song of multiple donuts (or a box) calling out, but stopping COLD at a singular bite?

I know I couldn't do it. At a minimum I'd go all Adrian Monk and try to "even it out". There's no symmetry in 3/4.

So don't go all Secret Service on me again everyone, but Rachel - details? Hehehehehe

Mtndog Collaborator

Oh yes- I think our main problem may be the fact that we have all been abducted by aliens and are carrying alien babies (guys too...sorry, aliens make no gender preferences!). I swear when this all started happening to me in 2003 I told everyone I thought I was giving birth to an alien baby.

Uhm..4 years is a long gestation period :P:ph34r:

rachel- so glad you carla'd your sauna. That sounds good (although I'd make about a minute too in the heat- I wish I could tolerate the heat but nope!). I could, however, tolerate a nice redwood hot tub on my back deck surrounded by night blooming jasmine.

Charlie- Glad to hear your coming out of your ugh phase. I thought I was too but yesterday bit rat bums. :( I suppose that's the nature though....some days are up, some are down.

Which one of you (Rachel I think?) said that The only way through this is through it? I would love to go under it, but no such luck :P

Rinne- I still can't believe you're a grandmother. Clearly EVERYONE here is young at heart.

And I must agree with SusieQ that Andrea is indeed a beautiful soul.

I think, either in this thread or start another, we should all make a list of the top 10 things we want to do when we feel better (even if it's as small as racheling all the Bumble Bars, peanut butter, martinis or (gasp) cute waiters :P).

I've got #1 secretly planned for October because I turn 40 in November. I want to be well enough by October to go to Ireland for my 40th birthday.

Hi @Scatterbrain Thank you for your reply.   Some of these things could be weaknesses, also triggered by stress, which perhaps have come about as the result of long-term deficiencies which can take a long time to correct.   Some could be completely unrelated. If it is of help, I'll tell you some of the things that started in the first year or two, following my diagnosis - I pinned everything on coeliac disease, but it turns out I wasn't always right!  Dizziness, lightheaded - I was eventually diagnosed with cervical dizziness (worth googling, could be your issue too, also if you have neck pain?)  A few months after diagnosis I put my neck out slightly carrying my seven-year-old above my head, and never assigned any relevance to it as the pain at the time was severe but so short-lived that I'd forgotten the connection. Jaw pain - stress. Tinnitus - I think stress, but perhaps exacerbated by iron/vitamin deficiencies. Painful ribs and sacroiliac joints - no idea, bloating made the pain worse. It got really bad but then got better. Irregular heart rate - could be a coincidence but my sister (not a coeliac) and I both developed this temporarily after our second Astra Zeneca covid jabs.   Subsequent Pfizer jabs didn't affect us. Brain fog - a big thing for people with certain autoimmune issues but in my case I think possibly worse when my iron or B12 are low, but I have no proof of this. Insomnia - stress, menopause. So basically, it isn't always gluten.  It might be worth having your vitamins and mineral levels checked, and if you have deficiencies speak to your Dr about how better to address them?

@NanceK, I do have Hypersensitivity Type Four reaction to Sulfa drugs, a sulfa allergy.  Benfotiamine and other forms of Thiamine do not bother me at all.  There's sulfur in all kinds of Thiamine, yet our bodies must have it as an essential nutrient to make life sustaining enzymes.  The sulfur in thiamine is in a ring which does not trigger sulfa allergy like sulfites in a chain found in pharmaceuticals.  Doctors are not given sufficient education in nutrition (nor chemistry in this case).  I studied Nutrition before earning a degree in Microbiology.  I wanted to know what vitamins were doing inside the body.   Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.   Not feeling well after starting Benfotiamine is normal.  It's called the "thiamine paradox" and is equivalent to an engine backfiring if it's not been cranked up for a while.  Mine went away in about three days.  I took a B Complex, magnesium and added molybdenum for a few weeks. It's important to add a B Complex with all eight essential B vitamins. Supplementing just one B vitamin can cause lows in some of the others and result in feeling worse, too.  Celiac Disease causes malabsorption of all the B vitamins, not just thiamine.  You need all eight.  Thiamine forms including Benfotiamine interact with each of the other B vitamins in some way.  It's important to add a magnesium glycinate or chelate supplement as well.  Forms of Thiamine including Benfotiamine need magnesium to make those life sustaining enzymes.  (Don't use magnesium oxide.  It's not absorbed well.  It pulls water into the intestines and is used to relieve constipation.)   Molybdenum is a trace mineral that helps the body utilize forms of Thiamine.   Molybdenum supplements are available over the counter.  It's not unusual to be low in molybdenum if low in thiamine.   I do hope you will add the necessary supplements and try Benfotiamine again. Science-y Explanation of Thiamine Paradox: https://hormonesmatter.com/paradoxical-reactions-with-ttfd-the-glutathione-connection/#google_vignette

Your goal is not to be a good puppet, there is no gain in that. You might want to restart the ones that helped.  It sounds more like you are suffering from malnutrition.  Gluten free foods are not fortified with things like Thiamine (B1), vitamin D, Iodine, B1,2,3,5,6 and 12 as non-gluten free products are required to be. There is a Catch-22 here.  Malnutrition can cause SIBO, and SIBO can worsen malnutrition. Another possibility is side effects from any medication that are taking.  I was on Metformin 3 months before it turned me into a zombi.  I had crippling side effects from most of the BP meds tried on me, and Losartan has many of the side effects on me from my pre gluten free days. Because you have been gluten free, you can test and talk until you are blue in the face but all of your tests will be negative.  Without gluten, you will not create the antigen against gluten, no antigens to gluten, so no small intestine damage from the antigens.  You will need to do a gluten challange to test positive if you need an official diagnosis, and even then, no guaranty: 10 g of gluten per day for 6 weeks! Then a full panel of Celiac tests and biopsy. At a minimum consider vitamin D, Liquid Iodine (unless you have dermatitis herpetiformis and iodine exasperates the rash), and Liquid Geritol. Push for vitamin D testing and a consult with a nutritionist experienced with Celiack Disease.  Most blood tests don't indicate nutritional deficiencies.  Your thyroid tests can be perfect, yet not indicate iodine deficiency for example.  Thiamine   test fine, but not pick up on beriberi.  Vegans are often B12 deficient because meat, fish, poultry, eggs, and dairy are the primary souces of B12. Here is what I take daily.  10,000 IU vitamin D3 750 mg g a b a [   ] 200 mg CoQ10 [   ] 100 mg DHEA [   ] 250 mg thiamine B1 [   ] 100 mg of B2 [   ] 500 mg B5 pantothenic acid [   ] 100 mg B6 [   ] 1000 micrograms B12 n [   ] 500 mg vitamin c [   ] 500 mg taurine [   ] 200 mg selenium

Hi…Just a note that if you have an allergy to sulfa it’s best not to take Benfotiamine. I bought a bottle and tried one without looking into it first and didn’t feel well.  I checked with my pharmacist and he said not to take it with a known sulfa allergy. I was really bummed because I thought it would help my energy level, but I was thankful I was given this info before taking more of it.

Hello @Scatterbrain, Are you getting enough vitamins and minerals.  Gluten free food is not fortified so you may be starting to run low on B vitamins and vitamin D.   By the way you should get your mom checked for celiac disease.  You got it from your mom or dad.  Some studies show that following a gluten-free diet can stabilize or improve symptoms of dementia.  I know that for the 63 years I was eating gluten I got dumber and dumber until I started GFD and vitamin replenishment and it began to reverse.  Thiamine can get used up in a week or two.  Symptoms can come and go with daily diet.  Symptoms of beriberi due to Thiamine deficiency.   Difficulty walking. Loss of feeling (sensation) in hands and feet. Loss of muscle function or paralysis of the lower legs. Mental confusion. Pain. Speech difficulties. Strange eye movements (nystagmus) Tingling. Any change in medications? Last March I had corotid artery surgery (90 % blockage), and I started taking Losartan for blood pressure, added to the Clonidine I was taking already.  I was not recovering well and many of my pre gluten free symptoms were back  I was getting worse.  At first I thought it was caused a reaction to the anesthesia from the surgery, but that should have improved after two weeks.  Doctor thought I was just being a wimp. After three months I talked to my doctor about a break from the Losartan to see if it was causing it. It had not made any difference in my bp.  Except for clonindine, all of the previous bp meds tried had not worked to lower bp and had crippling side effects. One, I could not stand up straight; one wobbly knees, another spayed feet.  Inguinal hernia from the Lisinopril cough.  Had I contiued on those, I was destined for a wheelchair or walker. She said the symptoms were not from Losartan so I continued taking it.  Two weeks later I did not have the strength in hips and thighs to get up from sitting on the floor (Help, I can't get up😨).  I stopped AMA (not recommended).  Without the Losartan, a) bp did not change, after the 72 hour withdrawal from Losartanon, on clonidine only and b) symptoms started going away.  Improvement started in 72 hours.  After six weeks they were gone and I am getting better.
