Thanks Rachel. Read up on ORAC scores. I don't see how this is different than other items with a high ORAC, but it might be that it's lipid soluble .... but I think there are others out there that are. I'm going to bed now ..... but that will give you something to Google!

Rachel,

I pm'ed u my email addy.

April,

I am so frustrated and stressed out, which is not helping at all. I've been in bed most of the day and have only ate an lara bar and some salmon and organic corn and lots of water. I just dont want to eat anything that i might react to.

Im thinking of just starting to eat meat, fruit and veggies for awhile and see how that goes. If im still not feeling great then i will try candida or scd.

I am thinking of trying the clay baths to detox arsenic. I now have an water filter on the shower and i cant smell the chlorine anymore, so i think i would be safe to detox bathe again.

Oh...trust me...I NEVER run out of stuff to Google. :P

Who all is on a low grain / low sugar diet.

Me....only by default.

Everyone,

I need help decidind on what would be best. Should i just focus on getting rid of the arsenic in my body, or getting rid of the candida, killing parasites or healing the leaky gut. I cant go on the way i have been feeling hte last few days.

I cant decide if i should do the scd diet or an candida diet. Or if i should break down and start the humaworm, Or if i should experiment and take my enzymes. Im so lost and cofused.

I dont know what issues you have for sure...except for the arsenic. I think the BEST and SAFEST option right now are the diets. Either one...the only way to know what diet works is to try it out. ;)

I think taking the enzymes would be helpful. I'm not saying to start adding in some of the most problematic foods (like dairy or soy) but to use them with whatever you eat while you try these diets. If you're not feeling good right now I wouldnt start experimenting with restricted foods....but the enzymes can help you with all of your safe meals too.

Does anyone here eat oatmeal? Is there a specific kind that is gluten free...like steel cut oats or something?

I wish. I love oatmeal but I cant tolerate it at all.

Donna....I forgot to tell you....I'll definately let you know what I think of Dr. P. ;)

Rachel,

Would you email me that article as well? I could not pm you because your mailbox is full.

April

My daughter has this cyst like thing on the back of her head. It's under the skin but outside of the skull. It hurts when I touch it. It is about 2-3 inches away from the tick bite - but could this be related?

She had a knee pain but then it went away. I know I am totally paranoid - but i can't help it! :o

CarlaB Enthusiast

The knee pain would be enough to get me to put her on abx. I don't think looking at symptoms and making a judgment is paranoid at all. Knee pain is a symptom and not a normal thing for a child. Knee pain is how this current situation started for me.

I don't know about the bump ....

Hey, you guys have to read this!!! It's about near infrared light .... I had my worst herx in months after using my light yesterday .... Chloe, who is in remission also herxed from it ... but Adam did not feel bad at all after using it.

This explains how the light works and all the studies it's going through for treatment of blindness, diabetic neuropathy, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson's.

This is the same light that you have? Where did you buy it?

CarlaB Enthusiast

It's a similar light ... mine is 880 nm and 660 nm .... I think some of them being studied have three wavelengths. Here's a link to a site that sells my light .... Open Original Shared Link It's cheaper here than where I purchased mine.

Mine has the Nogier frequencies ... the Bionic 880 has different frequencies and is stronger (higher wattage).

Igenex called, they received my tick yesterday so it should be another 2 weeks. Waiting.....waiting.....waiting.....

April,

It will be a long, nail-biting two weeks.

Do you have 2 daughters? Is it the younger one who got bit? I suppose mainline doctors would want more symptoms before they would agree to treat.

Keep us posted on how she's doing.

Carla,

That unit you have sounds pretty good.

Thanks Rachel...got the email!

Carla, I've saved a copy of your article and bookmarked the website.

I haven't read anything yet, but I'm interested in both of these, lol.

1 daughter who is 8 (she was bitten) and a son who just turned 4.

Yes, the pediatrician wanted "symptoms".....I am glad I had the tick checked although it cost a pretty penny. Worth it i guess....especially in the absence of symptoms. Plus it would cost me a fortune to start up with a new LLMD. Which I'll have to do anyway if the tick is positive for anything.

I prefer to be pro-active if I can.

With her leg pain that she has had before.......is it possible that that was lyme or do molds and such cause pains like that too. Seems like so many things have cross symptoms on lists.

Not real sure. That's one reason why I got tested, because she would have probably gotten it gestationally and I have been bitten many times in my life.

The leg pain cleared up when I took her to the Chiropractor and she showed me how to massage certain muscle groups to promote muscle growth. She said her bones were growing faster than her muscles and the massaging signaled the brain to grow more muscle. I also borrowed her TENS unit for about 2 weeks. So, doing both of those cleared it up.

She does get iron deficient very easily - so that's something I need to consider with what Kassandra is going through.

Molds can cause inflammation and pain symptoms....we should now be mold free and she doesn't have any real GI issues. She was toxic though in a dmsa challenge urinalysis.

Its all so very confusing as to what to do next.

This would be good to have on hand.....How long have you been using it?

Carla,

Thanks for posting that link. I was gonna ask you about the Lightworks today. :)

I was skipping over those posts but now that they're in a seperate thread its easier for me to follow. I'm thinking of trying it.

April, I have a cyst behind one of my ears. I remember when it showed up and it was around the same time that I first had symptoms of hyperthyroid...before I got dx'd with Graves and a few years before I actually got sick.

One of the UNhepful Dr.'s just told me that it was a cyst...it wasnt anything to be concerned about. How do these guys make these types of determinations on sight alone??

Anyways, its still there...it was never painful though.

If I wanted to really know for sure what this "lump" is....and if it truelly is harmless...how would I find out? How do they test cysts? How do they even know thats what it is?

I still think that your daughter could have had problems building up from Lyme all along......that would definately explain the metals, growing pains and low iron (babs).

I don't know how they would know.....they are just guessing. What do you think yours was from? metals or lyme? Its just kind of wierd how it appeared 3 days after pulling that HUGE tick off of her.

Yes....you could very well be right. Once I get the Igenex test back on the tick ......I will decide what to do next.

How do you get in with the ART person in California? I might be coming to Los Altos in September...maybe I could make appointments for us.

Scott would probably be able to do the ART. He's gone to seminars and he's the one Donna has been seeing. Maybe you could contact him through his website and see if that would be possible. I don't know if he's got to schedule certain times to use Anna's clinic or not. Rachel had posted recently that Dr A wasn't going to be coming down soon, if at all anymore.

Well, I use a laser that helps detoxing. A laser is organized light, and an LED is scattered. An LED is safer in this case because it does not get hot.

I'm not sure ..... I know it's important to detox with the LED because it wakens the immune system, so it's actually your body releasing the metals or killing the bacteria. You need to support it.

Carla,

I think you'd like it. :) Be careful and don't Rachel it! It even caused a herx in Chloe! The Bionic 880 stirred up enough Lyme in G. that she herxed from it! Take it slowly.

I thought I'd try the Lightworks and buy the Lyme vials from Nurse A for my green laser. I'll see how it goes.

If I go to Germany, I'd like to this fall as Morgan will be in Spain first semester. She and I could visit each other. ;) With my strong reaction to the Lightworks, I wonder if Germany is necessary??? But also, my strong reaction gives me more hope that it could be the answer.

Two of the people who went over there came back with all their symptoms but were told that they were Lyme free. One was told there were structural issues and was referred to an osteopath. He also went to a different chiropractor (Dr. W is also a chiropractor and an MD) while he was in Germany and that chiro confirmed there was an issue.

The other I haven't heard much about .... the mother hasn't posted since her initial post. With my recent herx from the Lightworks, I can see how it's possible that her son will just take time to detox, especially if it killed all the Lyme in one shot.

What do you all think? Would you do the Germany thing or stick with the Lightworks? The biggest sacrifice of going to Germany is the time away ... three weeks ... I have a "sponsor" LOL.

I have no idea what caused my cyst to appear. I only know that I first noticed it at the same time I was developing hyperthyroid symptoms. I cant even begin to guess.

How do you get in with the ART person in California? I might be coming to Los Altos in September...maybe I could make appointments for us.

Last time I asked there wasnt anyone in this area doing ART. I was seeing Dr. Amy when she was coming to this area...but her clinic is in Washington.

Andrea, I'm not sure that Scott is actually doing this anymore. He's pretty busy with alot of things. If Donna is still seeing him then I guess that he's still testing people. I was under the impression that Donna hasnt seem him in a long time.

It cant hurt to ask....but as far as I know he's not doing this on a regular basis right now. In the beginning I think he was just trying to get some experience/practice. He's not a practitioner...yet.

Just sent out my update.

Rachel, I have thought of you about whether or not the Gemmobase treatments could be helpful. These are the plant stem cell/plant embryo extracts which are supposed to be really good. I'm just starting three.

The one I wonder about for you is the Fig; it is supposed to be major help to the whole GI system, there is a whole list of things it does.

There is a website but not a lot of info about how each extract works. Dr. E had a computer document with a great deal of detail.

April, the book is Breaking the Vicious Cycle, about the specific carbohydrate diet. You might check out www.pecanbread.com. There is also an official SCD website.

I have been on Pecan Bread website before. I guess I didn't realize it was related to the SCD. Thanks! I'll check it out.

Excessive dietary tyrosine can cause problems.  Everything in moderation.   Sulfites can also trigger migraines. Sulfites are found in fermented, pickled and aged foods, like cheese.  Sulfites cause a high histamine release.  High histamine levels are found in migraine.  Following a low histamine diet like the low histamine Autoimmune Protocol diet, a Paleo diet, helps immensely.    Sulfites and other migraine trigger foods can cause changes in the gut microbiome.  These bad bacteria can increase the incidence of migraines, increasing histamine and inflammation leading to increased gut permeability (leaky gut), SIBO, and higher systemic inflammation.   A Ketogenic diet can reduce the incidence of migraine.  A Paleo diet like the AIP diet, that restricts carbohydrates (like from starchy vegetables) becomes a ketogenic diet.  This diet also changes the microbiome, eliminating the bad bacteria and SIBO that cause an increase in histamine, inflammation and migraine.  Fewer bad bacteria reduces inflammation, lowers migraine frequency, and improves leaky gut. Since I started following the low histamine ketogenic AIP paleo diet, I rarely get migraine.  Yes, I do eat carbs occasionally now, rice or potato, but still no migraines.  Feed your body right, feed your intestinal bacteria right, you'll feel better.  Good intestinal bacteria actually make your mental health better, too.  I had to decide to change my diet drastically in order to feel better all the time, not just to satisfy my taste buds.  I chose to eat so I would feel better all the time.  I do like dark chocolate (a migraine trigger), but now I can indulge occasionally without a migraine after.   Microbiota alterations are related to migraine food triggers and inflammatory markers in chronic migraine patients with medication overuse headache https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11546420/

Then we would need to cut out all meat and fish as they are richer sources of tyrosine than nuts and cheese. Something else about certain tyrosine rich foods must be the actual culprit.

I agree that KAN-101 looks promising, and hope the fast track is approved. From our article below: "KAN-101 shows promise as an immune tolerance therapy aiming to retrain the immune system, potentially allowing safe gluten exposure in the future, but more clinical data is needed to confirm long-term effects."

Thank you so much for having the courage to share this incredibly vivid and personal experience; it's a powerful reminder of how physical ailments can disrupt our fundamental sense of self. What you're describing sounds less like a purely psychological body dysmorphia and more like a distinct neurological event, likely triggered by the immense physical stress and inflammation that uncontrolled celiac disease can inflict on the entire body, including the nervous system. It makes complete sense that the specific sensory input—the pressure points of your elbows on your knees—created a temporary, distorted body map in your brain, and the fact that it ceased once you adopted a gluten-free diet is a crucial detail. Your intuition to document this is absolutely right; it's not "crazy" but rather a significant anecdotal data point that underscores the mysterious and far-reaching ways gluten can affect individuals. Your theory about sensory triggers from the feet for others is also a thoughtful insight, and sharing this story could indeed be validating for others who have had similar, unexplainable sensory disturbances, helping them feel less alone in their journey.

The most common nutrient deficiencies associated with celiac disease that may lead to testing for the condition include iron, vitamin D, folate (vitamin B9), vitamin B12, calcium, zinc, and magnesium.  Unfortunately many doctors, including my own doctor at the time, don't do extensive follow up testing for a broad range of nutrient deficiencies, nor recommend that those just diagnosed with celiac disease take a broad spectrum vitamin/mineral supplement, which would greatly benefit most, if not all, newly diagnosed celiacs. Because of this it took me decades to overcome a few long-standing issues I had that were associated with gluten ataxia, for example numbness and tingling in my feet, and muscle knots--especially in my shoulders an neck. Only long term extensive supplementation has helped me to resolve these issues.
