Hormel's is suppose to be safe, but their chili seems to give me D. I'm not sure why, maybe it's the spices? Maybe it's not as safe as they say.

Anyone have any bad expeirnces with Hormels?

Yeah, their chili makes my stomach hurt. It passes after about 45 minutes and doesn't move on to my normal gluten reaction.

I've had gluten reactions to Amys products.

How much hot chili do you eat? Could it be a bad reaction to the spices?

GreySaber, I do not eat the "Hot" chili. I am quite certain that I would experience gastro problems with that. I prefer the mild. Yeah, I think it could be the spices that your system is objecting to. Another thought, what else do you typically accompany your chili with? Could it be something on the side?

I KNOW WE'RE ONLY TO DO CC PRODUCTS--AND AT THE RISK OF GETTING 'YELLED AT' BUY THE LOVERS OF BERTS BEES PRODUCTS....

What the heck does "CC" stand for? I kept seeing it earlier in the thread, but I don't undersatnd...

CC = cross contamination

Some were worse than others, but I would avoid:

Amy's

Ener-g

Arrowhead Mills

TimSpfd Newbie

Lays

Bobs Red Mill pancake mix

I suspect on Pamelas chocolate chip cookies and possibly peanut butter. No problems with the shortbread ones though so far.

Blue Diamond Nut Thins

I have been having some problems with Almond Breeze and am wondering if I am sensitive to almonds rather than a cc issue. I know I had problems with the Pacific almond milk.

So to sum up this thread so far, people have had trouble with the following brands:

Amy's

Bob's Red Mill

Pamela's

Hormel's

Van's Waffles

Utz Chips

Barbara's Puffins Cereal

Some Whole Foods 365 Brand

Blue Diamond Nut Thins

Lays

Quakers

Arrowhead Mills

Kinnikinnick products

Mi Del cookies

Another mix - big brown bag [My note: sounds like Namaste?]

Lundberg.

Ener-g

Blue Diamond Nut Thins

What's left? Honestly. I'm having trouble thinking of a company that's not on this list. I'm sure as soon as I turn off the computer I'll think of several of them, but...

debmidge Rising Star

Arrowhead Mills (and if you call them, as their label suggests you should, you don't get the same answer twice)

Shiloh Farms products

Mrs. Mays snack products

Quaker Corn Meal

Quaker Grits

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
