Positive Blood Work, Negative Gi Biopsy

I had my blood test for Celiac about a year and half ago and it came out positive. When the upper GI came back negative the doctor totally disregarded Celiac and diagnosed me with IBS. I have mild and livable symptoms but I am worried that if it is Celiac I could be damaging my body at the time the doctor did not seemed concerned about this. Could I have tested negative earlier but still by damaging my body with gluten or am I being obsessive?

You might be gluten intolorent but not have Celiac. The treament is the same either way.

I had a positive blood test and an inconclusive biopsy. I went gluten-free the day after the biospy and by the time I met with my doctor to go over results two weeks later the change was so obvious I was given the Celiac diagnosis.

Have you tried gluten free? It might be worth giving it a go for a month or two to see if there is a change. If there is a change, then you'll know for sure. If it is and you don't go gluten-free, you will be damaging your body.

      That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

      Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

      Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

      Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
