So i thought celiac disease usally gives you D but almost always i seem to be constipated, never remember reading this as as symptom, When i was sick with the flue about a month ago i had really bad D that continued for over 2 weeks until they moved me back onto reguler foods, i continued to eat and continued to eat, was having better movements but malaboshion was obviuse * food was coming back out htat i ate but not D* then i went out to eat and had a club sandwich with batterd cross hatch frys the next day the blood stools started. After about 4 days of these my doctor finally saw me and said i may have IBS but to also do some research into celiac disease and eat as if i had it, thats when i joined this site. After following the diet for about 2 days the blood went away and i started to be reguler again * and started to feel great :)* then last week i had D for one day and my symptoms started to come back the D went away but now im all plugged up, i dont really feel like i need to go but i know i should since i have only gone once today and never really yesterday. Can celiac make you plugged or am i eating something wrong or maybe its not celiac that is really causing my symptoms i dont know. Not to worried about it just looking for some opinions on my corked bum

As many questions as you've had, you should be getting to the top of the learning curve fast. Yes C can be a symptom of celiac disease. That's what I have now, but i did start off with the classic D of celiac disease. (floating, frothy, pale and oh so very very stinky). Certain foods bind me - cheese, rice and bananas. But I can usually counter that with dried apricots, raisins and pears. Lots of water. Whenever things don't go as needed, I use Citucel - it's gluten-free and was recommended to my by my gi. I know the dosage seems excessive, but I start out with one dose at night, then again in the a.m. if things still aren't going, and keep it up until things do move along. Since I've upped my fruit intake, I haven't had to resort to good ole Milk of Mag. That's a sure fire unstopper!

You can absolutely have C. I did. The "Old Paradigm" of Celiac says D only, but now we know that paradigm was wrong. You can have one or the other or alternate between.

just dont see why i have C, all i have aten in the past 48 hours is * in order* bannana, small salad, rice chips, next day, banana, ricechips, banana, ricechips * and gateorade lots and lots of gateorade so idont really understand why im so plugged up bananas should pass easaly.

too many banannas can cause that problem...

Lister--I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but bananas are constipating for a lot of people. That's why when kids (or anyone) gets D, they're told to eat bananas. How about an apple or some other fruit that you like?

i was staying away from other fruits because of acidic content, my stomic still gets upset really easaly and bananans are cheap. Oh well i guess just rice chips today for me then, as the only food i have is some rice chips bananas and some pork and potatoes but i cant cook the pork or potatoes because i cant get a email back from ajax about there soap

im not really eating too many bananas either, i had 1 that one day and 2 yesterday unless thats alot?

A little good news for you here--according to the CSA Gluten Free Product Guide, Ajax dish liquids--all variants--are gluten-free! Now you can make yourself a good meal! :) Cause you're not getting enough protein ;)

I think I am the queen of C, I pretty much never get D so when I do I know something really is not right with my system.

What works for me with the C is drinking hot water with lemon juice from about 1/2 a lemon. Also eating watermelon often does the trick.

Thank you.. Christina My anxiety is through the roof.  I think it was from eggs.  I really don't know because my eyes feel sore. Like I'm allergic to them.  I was defient in B12.   My heart is pounding and it won't stop.  Not sure what to do.   I don't have much support other than this forum.    Colleen

Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

I’m so glad they listened to your concerns!  I hope you get some answers from the MRI.

Had my MRI today I didn't have to have the manitol with my allergy's , I just had a litre of water , they were great with my concerns , so let's see if anything comes of if will keep posted once I have results 👍

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.
