Ok so i just had my lunch/dinner since its 4pm not sure if i should swing another meal later. But ugh i feel so sick like bloated and i already feel like i have to use the restroom and im getting like a sea sick feeling (or another way to discribe it is when your coming up on mushrooms*did these not by choice about 3 months ago my friends put a hole bunch in my orange juice and i never noticed until it was to late* maybe when i think im getting glutend im not maybe its ibs i dont know but this is how i discribe beeing glutened and all i ate was

pork, lettece, carrots, and the crumbs from my lumbarg rice chips- none of these things should even have cc problems. the pork was hormel always tender pork- its on there safe list and i have never had cc issues with the rice chips- i ate them last night just fine, but ugh i feel so sick. So my question is am i acually glutened by on of those things or this hole time when i thought i keep getting glutened its just how my body reacts to food for now?? gah i dont wanna use the restroom since i just ate im afraid it will be D and it will be what i ate :( im trying to get some nutriants in my body

You could be having problems with other foods...not just gluten. The pork is probably *highly* processed and not good for anyone with bad digestive symptoms. That would be my guess anyways. Also did you drink anything?

Lister Rising Star

gatorade and water only for me. and the pork shouldnt be prossessed i meen its a slab of meat?

Lots of meat gets processed. I have problems with regular meat I have to buy the organic stuff from the butcher at Whole Foods. I dont know what could be causing your symptoms but I know if I had eaten that pork and drank gatorade I'd probably be hallucinating right now.

Lister, I've read some of your posts but i can't remember how long you've been on the diet. if it's a fairly recent thing, your system may just not be up to snuff yet. i remember in the couple of months following diagnosis, i just didn't feel well at times (gluten symptoms), and most times, if not all, there was no way at all that i had ingested gluten. i chalked it up to my system's taking time to heal and just tried to eat as simply as possible to make sure. i'm sorry you're feeling bad. :(

Yes, is it only weeks that you're on this diet? It took my son months until he felt better. Also, pork always makes me sick and naseous. Can you stick to bland type foods while your gut is recovering?

Lister - you have mentioned that you had worms in your stools... Perhaps there is a larger problem at hand here. Have you spoken to your GI about issues other than potential celiac? In addition, keep in mind it might take awhile to heal. For nine months or so, all I could consume was veggies and nut butter, basically. Sometimes you need to simplify it as best as you can. And you're working with food daily at work - that could be a huge problem.

Lister,

I've been reading your posts and I can identify with a lot of your symptoms. I had a lot of stomach pain and bloating in the beginning. Along with gluten intolerance I also suffer from IBS. I had no damage to my villi so the doctor suggested more fiber. He recommended Citracel tabs 2 in the morning (they are gluten-free). After my colonoscopy he told me that I have a lot of gas and fiber would make it feel better. It is good for both constipation and diarrhea. I also follow an IBS type diet, sort of. By that I mean I never start a meal with anything but soluble foods, such as banana, mashed potatoes, rice, etc. If you start your day with a soluble food the rest of the day will go smoothly. I am only telling you this because it has helped me. Hope you feel better soon. Keep up the gluten free diet!!

maybe i was wrong about getten glutened also. The symptoms went away after like 20 minutes/30 minutes besides for the head fog, got worse really but i did also smoke some of my medicine so now i cant even tell if im having brain fog or if its just my medicine in my system, i dont know thow its been about 2 hours since i smoked and it usaly only takes me 30-45 to sober up so maybe it is brain fog, but my sides really not bugging me/ well i guess slightly but its not like persistant

"start a meal with anything but soluble foods, such as banana, mashed potatoes, rice, etc." hmm i need to try that, in the morning around 6 my stomic starts to go crazy around 7 i eat a banana every morning and the pains go away for about 3 hours so that makes sense, i just need to start eating something like that before i eat my main course ? hmm ok so i will eat the rice first then the meat and see what happens

perhaps your drugs are cross contaminated.

Hello, I was very stick,  with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel.  Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change?  What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?

Eating out in general is full of risks, but this article may help:

This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to being "safe".

I don't live in the US, but based on this thread, I wouldn't risk it:   https://www.reddit.com/r/glutenfree/comments/1n2ehw8/cracker_barrel/   This app is helpful: https://www.findmeglutenfree.com/

I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
