Buckwheat is great. I loved cream of wheat and the hot buckwheat cereal is so much like it. So good for much more than pillows. :D

The twist on your words were evident. Merlin's answer was very sarcastic. I appreciate good discussion, but when it gets reduced to defensiveness and sarcasm, it stops being productive.

Berneses had some very good points, too.

It seems that if we just give our bodies a break by staying away from things that hurt us and eating things and even drinking cleansing teas that help the body heal, it's our safest path. Our bodies are designed to heal themselves when we are not overloading them with toxins. I mean, if we cut our hand, we don't have to think about how the wound will heal ... so if take the toxic load off our bodies by avoiding the garbage we tend to feed them, we should heal to the point we are able. Someone made an excellent point about our livers and all other organs being designed to clean themselves ... it's our modern diet that is hurting them!

It's true about modern diets exacerbating elimination problems. Diet is one of the prime reasons for continual gallstone formation as modern diet is all animal protein such as meat, cheese, milk etc. People are not eating enough good fats like avocado and nuts(no no for celiacs?). Without good fats the gallbladder will not release enough bile to digest meals and this stagnation of bile will lead to stagnation of bile in the liver causing stones. If you think the liver produces at least a quart of bile a day then you can see how all that could get backed up and start congealing if there is not enough fat in the diet.

As for the sarcasm above, I've been quizzed with questions exactly like that since the start and it's gets tiresome when you have to repeat the same thing over and over. Also, apart from not appreciating the consequences of constant diarrhea, I have never trivialised Celiac disease and the consequences. I have only taken on such a tone when people try to use the same tone to discredit the liver flush. Many people here haven't exactly been saints. I know people say it is because of me proclaiming the liver flush will cure celiac but that is the topic that is open to debate and I admit that. We never even got past the validity issue regarding the actual flush itself.

Now, on the topic of odd cures for celiac and food intolerances, has anyone seen a naturopath who used magnetic resonance therapy to cure food intolerances? I've been treated 4 times at a cost of 25$ each and he wants me to continue. I don't think I will. Basically what it is is a machine called a biocom machine (engineered in Germany) which measures your bodies (organs) response to an offending allergen. He can test for virtually anything...msg, pet dander, food dies, preservatives, etc etc etc etc. Non invasive and very easy. He determined what I was allergic to and then proceeded to reverse the signal that my organs sent out thereby "canceling" it out and in effect curing me of these allergies. He says he can cure even peanut allergies, hay fever you name it...sometimes it takes years of treatments and people may need to come back yearly or semiannually for a "booster". I know it's a shot in the dark but I thought I would try it, I really had my doubts about curing the wheat and gluten but I do feel like my lactose intolerance is better since. I just wanted to know if anyone else had ever done it too.

There is no science behind this. You can't reprogram your cells not to react through magetism, and for sure that's not a nuclear magetic resonance machine he's got there. They cost millions and are designed to diagnose by imagiing. I could find no reference to this on the internet. Sorry.

The whole liver cleanse idea is bogus to me. I reply only to echo what others have said about PLEASE be careful & consult a trusted physician BEFORE attempting anything that adds laxative to laxative to laxative..."liver spams" "gallbladder spasms" ...???? The liver can't spasm. As some of you may remember, my gallbladder had to be removed not because of stones but because it functioned at 0%. This was determined ONLY by tests. What if I had dumped all of my liver's bile into that gallbladder that couldn't contract. And by the way, eventhough my gallbladder wouldn't contract, my liver function is excellent. This was also determined by my physician who was THOROUGH in his exam BEFORE HE made ANY recommendations. So, that's my advice...know the WHOLE story before you do anything that could cause serious complications.

That said. I will not post back to this thread. I will not be drawn into defending or arguing my position. Please friends, be careful.

The previous post did not come through right. I wonder if tingling burning feet are part of it.. I'm not sure if it's the med reaction that people with gluten intolerance get or the food we ate  It's frustrating because a person who did not want to admit to himself I had this condition wanted me to eat this chicken sandwich and now I'm stuck with a variety of symptoms plus now I'm hungry on top of it..  I'm new to this so I forget that "one bite" of the wrong thing can hurt us.😔. Do we stop eating if someone exposed us to gluten ??  My stomach is rumbling but my joints hurt ...  It's weird because I can feel the anxiety coming on.  I get joint problems ,  I don't know if anyone ever got hot flashes?? I suppose if it affects people head to toes you can get that too.   It's weird...hard to decipher what is what.   Also how long do I have to deal with this attack??  Makes me feel like not getting up out of bed.  I get too many symptoms which  horrible.  Thank you for your response..

as my last post stated, i was diagnosed via endoscopy on the 14th of june. i have been eating amazing home cooked meals, luckily, mainly cooked by my boyfriend who is extremely careful about contamination (and is an incredible cook at that). however, i find myself in a mental rut still. being 18, this is the time in my life where i should be exploring things, going out, having fun. yet every corner i turn i'm tortured by the amazing smell of something i can't have anymore. the wonderful sight of such yummy foods. it's near torture. if my boyfriend and his friend who lives with us buy something i can't have, they'll usually eat it outside of the house or the car or wherever we are - which is greatly appreciated - but even seeing a burger or chips or a sausage roll in their hands guts me almost beyond repair. i just wanna have it again too. i miss it. i feel left out and it makes me very sad all the time. it's not their fault. they are allowed to eat whatever they want to, whatever their intestines will allow. it just stings, bad. and i feel so ungrateful given i basically have a private chef who is doubly the love of my life. but it's just so hard. i know i'll adapt. i haven't given up hope.i just wanted to vent. thank you for reading

Thank you. I must have misinterpreted a study or something. Thank you for the clarification. Much appreciated. Almost three years into my celiac diagnosis and I'm still learning new things.

I wasn’t clear, glucagon and gadolinium were intravenous. I drank about 5 cups of the prep during 45 minutes. I feel very tired now, probably partly because I was nervous, and partly because I had to fast for 6 hours beforehand and wasn’t very hungry when I got home.
