I'm going camping today. I am trying to figure out good things to bring to be able to eat. So far i found just add water pancakes, so what brands of jam are gluten free? also what brands of syrup are gluten-free. And bug spray/sunscreen.

and then anyone have ideas of other foods that are easy for camping?? i was thinking trail mix and then i realized i dont know what brands are safe for nuts or for anything else u would put into trail mix. i would do ener-g preztels but those are like 3 dollers for a little pouch

I eat Natural Ruffles, sometimes regular one, but I like the Natural ones flavor better. I hear they have a dedicated facility.

I don't have any trouble with unflavored corn tortilla chips. I had natural Tostitos today.

I buy organic raisins because grapes are notoriously high in pesticide residue and I figure my system doesn't need any more stress, but regular raisins are probably mostly okay as far as gluten goes.

Clif Nectar Bars and Bumblebars are good and gluten-free. Careful, regular Clif bars are not.

Lays Stax make me sick, too, but I think that's because of the casein contamination. I don't think it's a very good idea to make a camping trip the time to reintroduce dairy ... unless you're really close to a bathroom!! <_<

I buy sunmaid raisins. They are gluten free.

I have never had any trouble with the beef jerky by oberto. There are some flavors that are not gluten-free so read the label carefully. I always get the orig.

As for chips....I get the lays and tostitos.

I also wouldn't reintroduce dairy if you haven't already! I would hate for you to spend your trip searching for bathrooms. :P

I use Hungry Jack syrup. It is gluten free. I just re-verified it a month or two ago.

For Jams and Jellies I use smuckers.

Kraft jam will state any wheat on their label.

In a pan, over the fire or stove. You could also wrap stuff in foil and put it over the fire or on the edge of the coals.

Hello, I was very stick,  with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel.  Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change?  What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?

Eating out in general is full of risks, but this article may help:

This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to being "safe".

I don't live in the US, but based on this thread, I wouldn't risk it:   https://www.reddit.com/r/glutenfree/comments/1n2ehw8/cracker_barrel/   This app is helpful: https://www.findmeglutenfree.com/

I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
