Something Wrong With This Meal?

Earlier this evening I had chop meat, rice, Amys organic salsa, Daisy sour cream, and gluten-free chips. Even after just a few bites I started feeling really full and a little sick, and Im bloated and feel like Im pregnant! I think I remember reading that some people have had problems with Amys products, but everything in this meal was gluten-free! Im trying to eat another meal because I started getting low blood sugar symptoms, and even though I feel hungry, the bloating is not allowing me to really eat. Ugh.

Could you be having dairy problems? What kind of meat was it?

No dairy problems...can drink milk with no problem. The meat was just regular chop meat from Kroger's meat dept.

daffadilly Apprentice

check the sour cream, also just because you can drink milk with no problems does not mean that you can eat sour cream with no problems. with food intolerances/allergies there is something about food combinations that can "do you in". So maybe you can do sour cream but not say sour cream with corn or tomatoes at the same time or all three at once is the problem.

i've heard the same thing about food combinations and intolerances as daffadilly.

That is exactly what happened to me when I got food poisoning. It wasn't gluten related. I hope for your sake it was just a little gluten. I hope you're feeling better soon! Let us know.

That's interesting...I guess I'll just lay off the sour cream.

maybe it was the sour cream? I'm not sure though don't take much advice from me, I am just starting this diet. With what I am learning so far about it, theres more than likely going to be a slip up somewhere, either on our side or theres. What kind of meat did you eat though?

If Amy's does have a contamination problem, you may well have gotten gluten from there. What about the element the meat was cooked on? What about contamination from the chips (Kettle, for instance, is notorious for contamination)? Could it be the chips themselves (the salt and corn in chips bothers me if I have too much)?

Hello, just popped in my head to ask this question about medications and celiac? I have always had refurse reaction to meds since I can remember  of what little meds my body is able to tolerate. I was taking gabapentin 300mg for a week,  in past I believe 150? Any ways it amps me up not able to sleep, though very tired. However I did notice it helped with my bloating sibo belly.I hate that my body is that sensitive and medical doesn't seem to take seriously. Im STILL healing with my skin, eye, and now ms or meningioma ( will know in April  which)and dealing with this limbo nightmare. I did write my name, address ect on the reclamation but im not tech savvy and not sure if went through properly. I called my city representative in Stanislaus County and asked if theres a physical paper i can sign for proclamation for celiac and she had no clue about what I was saying, so I just said I'll go back on website.

I'm not saying that some celiacs won't need it, but it should be done under a doctor's supervision because it can cause lots of problems in some people.

I also noticed I get debilitating migraines when I smell gluten, wheat and its not taken seriously when it affects one in every way.Im still begging to properly be heard.I also noticed tolerance level is down the drain with age and life changes. I have been told by incompetent medical that im not celiac or that sensitive. Diagnosed in 1994 by gi biopsy gluten-free ever since along with other lovely food allergies. Prayers

trents:  Why some can tolerate european bread but not american bread.     I take 600 mcg a day.  Right in the middle of the safe range.   Groups at Risk of Iodine Inadequacy Though though the NIH does not specifically list Celiac Disease in this group, they state: "Iodide is quickly and almost completely absorbed in the stomach and duodenum. Iodate is reduced in the gastrointestinal tract and absorbed as iodide [2,5]."  That would certainly include malabsorption of Iodine due to Celiac Disease with resultant Iodine Deficiency. Vegans and people who eat few or no dairy products, seafood, and eggs People who do not use iodized salt Pregnant women People with marginal iodine status who eat foods containing goitrogens Deficiencies of iron and/or vitamin A may also be goitrogenic [51] https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/Iodine-HealthProfessiona   1
