Chilis

I finally tried out Chilis after hearing all about their gluten free menu. Well the hostesses knew nothing about it. They had never heard of such a thing. They were really young. I told them to ask their manager.

We got seated and our waiter came to the table to take our drink orders. I told him again about the gluten free menu, he also knew nothing about it. He went to ask the manager too. He did come right back with a computer print out of a gluten free menu.

I ordered a small salad and the ribs. My salad came out with croutons on it. I sent it right back. Then I was telling my mother about how good the honey mustard salad dressing was and she stuck her contaminated fork in my dressing. I again got the waiter and received a new salad dressing.

I also double checked that he wrote gluten free on the ticket for my meal. He assured me he did and went to double check it.

I had no problems later on at all. I was very happy about this. I miss Ruby Tuesdays ribs, as I liked them best, but these werent bad either.

My experience ended up being good. I gave our poor waiter a run for his money so we tipped him a bit extra and we educated him on gluten and what it all was about.

Besides, he was a young kid, and he was really cute!!! :P

I eat there fine, I don't go the gluten route, I tell them that I come here, they can cook for me, and then I tell the server how I want my food prepared, how I want it cooked, etc. The cooks in the back know my order but the servers seem to turn over more often - and when I get a newbie, I am very specific.

My chili's is clueless too. I purchased that Clan Thompson SmartList and on it, it gives you the gluten free items at chili's, and tips to make sure it is gluten free, reminder... subject to change without notice...

I am not going to put the word Chili's in front of each item, so these are the items at Chili's. Reminder this is not guaranteeing that there has been no cross contamination.

Bacon or Ol' Timer burger - No bun

Baked Potato Soup

Chocolate Shake w/ or w/o sprinkles - see if restraurant has a dedicated mixer for this item

Citrus fire chicken & shrimp - no seasoning on shrimp

Pico de Gallo Salsa w/ corn tortilla's raw not fried

Flamed Grilled Rib Eye - Request dry grill, no garlic toast, no savory steak butter, no herb aus

Guiltless Grill Salmon

Mushroom Swiss Burger - No Bun, No Fajita Onions

Peppercorn Burger, Peppercorn spice is ok - No Bun, No Blue Cheese, No Onion Strings

Little Big Mouth Burger - No Bun

Corn on the cob

Steamed Veggies

Brocolli

Rice

Kettle Beans

Mashed Beans

Mashed Potatoes

The cheese is okay if you prefer a cheeseburger.

The menu I saw was the same thing except their bbq baby back ribs were on it. I got those and had no problems at all.

Hey there! I worked at Chili's for 6 years- 2 of them while gluten-free and so I know what I could and couldn't eat. The chicken they put on ANY item is marninated in a teriaki sauce w/ soy sauce in it. However- A little known trick... ask for the Ceasar salad chicken, it is not mar. and gluten-free

My dd has had the grilled chicken from the kids menu and been ok. It can't be marinated in teriyaki sauce.

I had the sirloin steak, plain brocolli and pico yesterday and it was very good. The pico is just tomatoes, onions and peppers. No vinegar. :D And yes, the EVOO queen had them bring her EVOO on the side.

I had been there on Monday and no one knew what gluten free was, but yesterday, Saturday, they took the time to hand me one of their gluten free menus. So, I am thinking, maybe, I made a difference. B)

We ate at the chillis a few towns up tonight. It went really well. The waiter had no idea about the menu so he went and asked and discovered that they do have one. No one had ever asked him for it  I ordered the Margarita chicken without the tortilla strips, it seemed to be the one of the least fussy things on the menu, all I had to say was with no chips please. So after I ordered it I saw some fine print "request dry grilled, or cooked without butter oils or sauces" I caught that pretty fast, so he ran back to the kitchen to tell the cook, I also saw him talking with the manager..Overall I was really impressed with it. I hate fussing over things, I'm the one who fusses over people, not the other way around! I don't know its just embarrassing I guess. Eating out really is a luxury to us isn't it.

I'm in TX and every Chilli's we've been to has been very helpful and very knowledgable about Celiac Dis. That's why we go there. I'm suprised that you had such problems.

I have been fortunate in our Chilis in Pleasanton, the managers mom is Celiac and all of the cooks have been trained :D When we are seated, I give them my gluten-free card from Clan Thompson (and a copy in Spanish as well) and I have enjoyed every meal, worry free.

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
