SILLIES!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

OMG - we are on page 666 of the thread........look out....take cover....what does it MEAN???????

Gadzooks! I just about snorted Tootsie roll out my nose

Gadzooks.  Jude Law's nuggets........now THERE is a thing to ponder.

HOLY Kuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrr-WRAP it DID live up to the Hype!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

holy kuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrap 'tis wondrous ;)

One day - - Ptaum will find his too....... 'tis the most unexpected thing imaginable, truly the most shocking thing........

Does he know what a yeti is?

How about anal glands? Knows what they are/got any?

as a matter of fact, Annie did a BUTT SCOOT yesterday - - although we never saw the scoot, just the remains. <blech>

So an entire conversation about my sillies ensued - although he knew about you guys before - - and we did cover anal glands, yeti, many things. He was out of his mind. He is a goof, with the soul of a poet and a brain that......is the total opposite of my dingo-brain adn compliments mine nicely.

JANET - OMG. Details later. He does NOT have big pointed ears and a black nose, however he IS working on his second-degree black belt. He IS a computer.....programmer? technician? guy in charge of eveyrthing having to do with computers for tons of people? Information technology? Information services? what in hell. It's all devil-gibberish to me and he shows things to me and I just crack up.......it don't make no sense at all. 'Tis surely the work of the devil, I tell him all the time. COMPUTERS ARE EVIL.

he DID fix my computer and de-bugged it and worked on many things and now....'tis magic.

He LOVES dogs.........LOVES LOVES LOVES Annie (then again, who doesn't. Even Jude was....he was simply out of his mind for her and wants to put her in a movie).

I can't tell you where I met him yet, but it was last summer......and you guys will die. We stayed in touch, got to know one another, but didn't start dating until rather recently and I have kept it very secret. He comes with a good reference as one of my best friends has known him over 20 years.

But get this........get this........hold on to yer toilet seats and yer BUMBLESHOOTS ('tis the correct word, Patti - unless your aunt? grandma? said it differently)..........

Three generations ago his family bought 60 acres with 3 cabins in the Santa Cruz mountains. :o I've seen pictures. I may die.

god help me............hold me.........Susie is.........verklempt!!!!!!!!!!!!

good gawd, I must go. Have been in a vortex of another kind................

forgive my self-centeredness. Exhausting, this love business. Not for sissies. ;)

Oh Susie, I have never seen you so happy. It is so nice.

cloud 9 is fun!

 It's a silly word for umbrella--my aunt used to use it all the time :D

My grandma used to call her umbrella this...but she said BUMBERSHOOT. We'll have to confer with Nikki, as I vaguely remember it being an English expression.....

OMG - we are on page 666 of the thread........look out....take cover....what does it MEAN???????

I noticed this as soon as I made the first post on this page.....Gad, I hope I don't become an anti-monarch figure...a foil, so to speak, in my position as first-over -to-this-mark........:ph34r:

Mygawd.....Get him on here!!...........

The soul of a poet.....Splendid. ...Er, as long as we're not talking Wilde or Cummings. This type of soul would drive me to insanity...):lol:

he DID fix my computer and de-bugged it and worked on many things and now....'tis magic.

This type comes in verrrrrrry handy. No more computer probs for Susie! Hey! I need to speak with him about chrome registration failure.....

Yes . . . I have one of these as well . . . he comes in quite handy. Fixes my mom's computer when we are at her house. Fixes his mom's computer as well. Gives long-distance consultations to all relatives.

I can't tell you where I met him yet, but it was last summer......and you guys will die.

Well then . . . we shall have to guess, won't we?

You met him whilst wearing your pajamas pricing out hardwood flooring at Lowe's?

You met him whilst wearing your pajamas to shop at Trader Joes?

You met him whilst wearing your pajamas when you were stalking the half-naked zombie man? . . . OMG, WAIT!!!! . . . he IS the half naked zombie man!!!!!!

Before he left for work, DH was looking at me with his oft-donned expression, "yeah...sure", when I was going on and on about how involved we all are in Sillyville with Michelle's quest. So I led him over to the laptop and scrolled over the last few posts.

He stood, slack-jawed. Then he let out a large guffaw and said, "Whoa! Amazing...I'll email Ed (his bro and Michelle's DH) this morning and tell him. . . ."

 I can see the fully slackened jaw from here!!

. . .. . They have seventy to eighty dogs on their property, all with their own dog houses. It's quite something! :)

Whoa!!!! Dems a lotsa houses!

I just spent ONE HOUR reading, w/ many quotes and posts to address, started writing, they are ALL GONE NOW................ <insert angry face>

I tried and TRIED to invoke the powers of this elusive so-called magic triangle............

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

I should really try it again on a pc when using stacked quotes.

Tom - - ABSINTHE????????????????????? OMG - how IS it? does it taste normal and real? Susie is pleased.........

Hehehehehe ahhhhhh yes I meant to write about this.

It tastes good&plenty (yup licorice-y, like liquified Good&Plentys sans sweetness) and certainly non-imaginary. (Wth does the "real" part of that question even MEAN??!!)

It IS very strong & a different sort of buzz, but neither of us hallucinated nor became homicidal.

Roommate John claims absinthe originally had some opium but I dunno 'bout dat.

I'm sure ours had to have wormwood and the compound thujone(sp?) or it wouldn't BE absinthe. Those are what were blamed for its illegalization in the first place as far as I know.

Looking fwd to trying it again & I think I'll  pull out my old paints & canvases BEFORE summoning the Phaerie just in case inspiration strikes.

Still no sign of Sarah? :(

I keep wondering how our Queen is too. :(

Gah!!! there's no K in that word!!!! I must speak up lest all of Sillyville adopts it erroneously! (You already got Julie!)

The site has Skijoring, but I've heard of it as both Skijourning & Skijorning before.

Little bro Pete has done it and in Alaska I'd see ppl out doing it now and then. One spring there were at least two skijourners way out towards older brother Pat's cabin, leaving the telltale tracks.

HOLY CRAP TOM!!!!!

Take Cover!!!! :o:o

You're at 2000 Posts!!!!

I personally put more significance to the 1999th yesterday, as it's once in a lifetime to match member# and NOW I know why this embarrassing depths-of-stupidity incident occurred yesterday! (Still no red-faced emoticon!!)

You'll all quickly see where this is headed.

I don't often take baths but my back was particularly bad so I thought a nice hot soak might help.

Yup .. . . ...omG the sudden panic when realizing the tub had been 'filling' for 20-30min!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luckily the bathroom floor is a bit concave. Maybe 70% of the floor had an inch to inch & a half of water. Grrrrrrrrr

Discovered my rugs are surprisingly absorbent but it also took nearly every towel I own!!! I couldn't think of what else to do!!!!!!

The mopping up and squeezing out was the best workout my forearms have gotten in yrs.

So BEWARE the post# that matches member#!!

2000th post effect so far is just some drizzle, which is safely remaining outdoors. No leaks.

But now I must worry about automotive fluids during my upcoming errand run.

Patti!! WTH is a bumpershoot?

:huh::huh:

 I've heard the word bumBershoot for umbrella since childhood and at first even read it w/ B!!

I am SO easily amused right now

this is the last entry on the chili-judging thing:

Chili # 8 Karen's Toenail Curling Chili...

Judge # 1 -- The perfect ending, this is a nice blend chili. Not too bold, but spicy enough to declare its existence.

Judge # 2 -- This final entry is a good, balanced chili. Neither mild, nor hot. Sorry to see that most of it was lost when Judge # 3 farted, passed out, fell over, and pulled the chili pot down on top of himself. Not sure if he's going to make it. Poor fella, wonder how he'd have reacted to really hot chili?

This reminds me of an actual true story . . . I guy that I worked with was living with his girlfriend. She apparently made some screaming hot chili. I don't know if he loved it that way or was afraid of hurting her feelings . . . so he apparently ate a lot of it. Later that night, he sat on the toilet with his insides screaming for mercy. Apparently he passed out from the pain, fell off of the toilet, his private parts were caught on the seat as he fell . . . and lacerated his manliness. He had to go to the emergency room for stitches.

excellent, the booty-shaking competition. My brother got married in Seattle years ago - I was about 38 or so. The family was up there and the two oldest nieces got to go - I took great joy in mooning them in the elevator of the hotel every chance I got.

I have read fermented foods like sauerkraut, pickles, Kefir, Kombucha are great for gut health besides probiotics. However I have searched and read about ones that were tested (Kefir, Kombucha) and there is no clear one that is very helpful. Has anyone take Kefir, Kombucha and noticed a difference in gut health? I read one is lactose free but when tested was high in lactose so I would probably try a non dairy one. Thanks

Thanks again for the detailed explanation. Just to clarify, I actually did have my initial tests done while I was still consuming gluten. I stopped eating gluten only after those tests were completed, and it has now been about 70 days since I went gluten-free. I understand the limitations around diagnosing NCGS and the importance of antibody testing and biopsy for celiac disease. Unfortunately, where I live, access to comprehensive testing (including total IgA and endoscopy with biopsy) is limited, which makes things more complicated. Your explanation about small-bowel damage, nutrient absorption, and iron-deficiency anemia still aligns closely with my history, and it’s been very helpful in understanding what may be going on. I don't wanna get Endoscopy and I can't start eating Gluten again because it's hurt really with severe diarrhea.  I appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed and informative guidance. Thank you so much for this detailed and thoughtful response. I really appreciate you pointing out the relationship between anemia and antibody patterns, and how the high DGP IgG still supports celiac disease in my case. A gluten challenge isn’t something I feel safe attempting due to how severe my reactions were, so your suggestion about genetic testing makes a lot of sense. I’ll look into whether HLA testing is available where I live and discuss it with my doctor. I also appreciate you mentioning gastrointestinal beriberi and thiamine deficiency. This isn’t something any of my doctors have discussed with me, and given my symptoms and nutritional history, it’s definitely worth raising with them. I’ll also ask about correcting deficiencies more comprehensively, including B vitamins alongside iron. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and taking the time to help. I’ll update the forum as I make progress.

Blood tests for thiamine are unreliable.  The nutrients from your food get absorbed into the bloodstream and travel around the body.  So, a steak dinner can falsely raise thiamine blood levels in the following days.  Besides, thiamine is utilized inside cells where stores of thiamine are impossible to measure. A better test to ask for is the Erythrocyte Transketolace Activity test.  But even that test has been questioned as to accuracy.  It is expensive and takes time to do.   Because of the discrepancies with thiamine tests and urgency with correcting thiamine deficiency, the World Health Organization recommends giving thiamine for several weeks and looking for health improvement.  Thiamine is water soluble, safe and nontoxic even in high doses.   Many doctors are not given sufficient education in nutrition and deficiency symptoms, and may not be familiar with how often they occur in Celiac disease.  B12 and Vitamin D can be stored for as long as a year in the liver, so not having deficiencies in these two vitamins is not a good indicator of the status of the other seven water soluble B vitamins.  It is possible to have deficiency symptoms BEFORE there's changes in the blood levels.   Ask your doctor about Benfotiamine, a form of thiamine that is better absorbed than Thiamine Mononitrate.  Thiamine Mononitrate is used in many vitamins because it is shelf-stable, a form of thiamine that won't break down sitting around on a store shelf.  This form is difficult for the body to turn into a usable form.  Only thirty percent is absorbed in the intestine, and less is actually used.   Thiamine interacts with all of the other B vitamins, so they should all be supplemented together.  Magnesium is needed to make life sustaining enzymes with thiamine, so a magnesium supplement should be added if magnesium levels are low.   Thiamine is water soluble, safe and nontoxic even in high doses.  There's no harm in trying.

Neither of them were anemic 6 months after the Celiac diagnosis. His other vitamin levels (d, B12) were never low. My daughters levels were normal after the first 6 months. Is the thiamine test just called thiamine?

Yes, I do think they need a Thiamine supplement at least. Especially since they eat red meat only occasionally. Most fruits and vegetables are not good sources of Thiamine.  Legumes (beans) do contain thiamine.  Fruits and veggies do have some of the other B vitamins, but thiamine B 1 and  Cobalamine B12 are mostly found in meats.  Meat, especially organ meats like liver, are the best sources of Thiamine, B12, and the six other B vitamins and important minerals like iron.   Thiamine has antibacterial and antiviral properties.  Thiamine is important to our immune systems.  We need more thiamine when we're physically ill or injured, when we're under stress emotionally, and when we exercise, especially outside in hot weather.  We need thiamine and other B vitamins like Niacin B 3 to keep our gastrointestinal tract healthy.  We can't store thiamine for very long.  We can get low in thiamine within three days.  Symptoms can appear suddenly when a high carbohydrate diet is consumed.  (Rice and beans are high in carbohydrates.)  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so symptoms can wax and wane depending on what one eats.  The earliest symptoms like fatigue and anxiety are easily contributed to other things or life events and dismissed.   Correcting nutritional deficiencies needs to be done quickly, especially in children, so their growth isn't stunted.  Nutritional deficiencies can affect intelligence.  Vitamin D deficiency can cause short stature and poor bone formation.   Is your son taking anything for the anemia?  Is the anemia caused by B12 or iron deficiency?
