Looking For Safe Vitamins

I have been trying to find Vitamins. The ones I am eating has soy in them...so now I know why stomach got upset again and again.

Anyways, I have been trying to look online, in my local grocery store and I did a search here but came up with tons of threads..

So I am wondering if anyone knows of any casein, gluten and soy free Vitamins?

I am taking Calcium tablets that are safe but I was thinking I should eat a multi vitamin/mineral one too.

Freeda brand vitamins are what we use - I've never been able to find them in a store so we order them online. They have a website - www.freedavitamins.com. They were recommended by the nutritionist.

Ursa Major Collaborator
Open Original Shared Link has hypoallergenic vitamins, that have none of those allergens you can't tolerate, either.

Thank you both!

Can I find the Kirkman brand in a store?

They have so many...which ones do you get? Did your nutritionist recommend any inparticular?

I find that I can feel bad from some Vitamines...especially if they have a lot of Magnesium for some reason. I get fast blood sugar drops from that. Kinda strange..

No, I don't believe you can, you have to order them.

Okay, so I haven't had the money to order any vitamins yet. I meant to ask you both if the vitamins are big in size. I really hate swallowing big pills. Seems I have to work up courage every time...

I saw that the one brand had the smaller sized pills. If the original ones are large I'll go for the small ones intead.

I absolutely hate taking pills, too. But even though the ones I take are regular sized (about the same size of any other brand I've tried that made gel caps, which are the ones you can open if you want), I have no problem swallowing those. I HATE pills that have any square corners, I wonder why anybody makes those. Those get stuck in my esophagus (or more likely my hiatus hernia), and I have to make them go down with food.

So, If you're anything like me, those hypallergenic ones will be fine. They will let you order a sample for $3.85 I think. I did that before I ordered the large container, as that's a lot of pills (it will last me four month at taking three pills a day, which is what my doctor ordered me to do).

So, I had a chance to try them first. Which is a great idea, and you ought to do that, too.

I use NOW brand multivitamins. They're free of all common allergens.

Someone here recommended Freeda Vitamins and I've got to say I'm very happy with them. I take their cal-mag supplement and a multivitamin and they're casein, soy and gluten-free... and also kosher.

Rainbow Light vitamins are also gluten-free/CF/SF.

I have the Member's Mark brand of mulitvitamins (from Sam's Club) and they say gluten free on the back. I don't know about the other stuff though. 450 of them were less than $10.

I ended up getting Kirkman Labs EveryDay multivitamines.

Now, it seems they are for kids.... I must have been brain fogged when I ordered. :P

These.. Open Original Shared Link

But it still looks like the dosage is the same for kids and adults, so I guess these should be fine for me still.

The size of the pill isn't very big at all.

They are free from corn, wheat, casein, gluten, soy, starch, added preservatives, artificial colors or flavors.

How much Calcium do you all take a day? I can't have Casein so so far I have taken 1000 mg of calcium a day.

Now I will probably end up taking 1300 mg..

I have trouble with nausea. It often starts when I’m anxious about something (home repairs, sick dog) but continues long after the home is repaired or the dog is healthy again. When it happens I eat less and lose weight.  My gastroenterologist suggested ginger or peppermint tea. I don’t know if that will work or not because I haven't had the problem since she suggested it.

Hello  I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.  Horrible pain..plus acid reflux and nausea... sensitivity to touch pain. ..yikes !! I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you

Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet.  I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now.  He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.  It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.  It's literally neurological inflammation.  Not to be taken lightly here.  We have sought out many other possible ways to cope during this window of time (8 months!!!!)  without success.   AN-PEP does not help and seems like studies on this are not well researched.  So, we are trying this out because research shows some promising results.  And, all participants showed no cravings afterwards, no signs of addiction.  The patch is different than the oral route such as smoking, vaping, gum, pouch, etc.
    • Scott Adams
Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-Free.

Hi all  I was diagnosed Coeliac a few years ago and follow a gluten free diet. The list of foods that I can eat without a problem grows shorter on a weekly basis. [I also have diabetes and asthma also].  BUT the reason I am posting this is because I seem to struggle with nausea quite a lot, which is really quite debilitating, and I was wondering if others suffer from nausea, even if following a gluten free diet.
