I finally got to the store by me.. called Epicure. He had everything. He carried Everybody Eats stuff.. let us try samples of all this stuff.. french bread, choc chip cookies, blueberry pie, we didnt sample the cakes, but they looked great.

I bought raviolis, the french bread and the cookies. My mom ordered the stuffing for Thanksgiving. I will have to see how that tastes. He had a whole turkey dinner sampling last week, I didnt know then.. shucks!

My mom also wants to order the pies for the holiday. She really hates to bake, nevermind gluten free. She wants to order a pumpkin pie (I know easy to make) so he invited me in next week, he will have both pies defrosted for me to sample which one I like best and add it to my moms order.

I cant wait. He has two freezers and two fridges filled with gluten free goodies. It was amazing. I cant wait to try my gluten free think crust pizza. He makes chicken croquettes too. I am hungry just thinking of it.

Enough babbling.. thanks for listening.. I get so excited with things like this...

Epicure is located in Spring Lake, NJ. Central Jersey shore area. I tried only the french bread, choc chip cookies (which are from Everybody Eats) and these absolutely incredible mini donuts.. they look like munchkins.. and taste like them too. If I didnt know any better I would have sworn they were from Dunkin Donuts! I will give more info on the products as I taste them. I will find out if he will be going online. I know within the next 30 days he will have a web site up and running.

I will let him know of the interest...

Chris Bachetti who owns this store is a great guy. He has several good lines including Everybody Eats & the Grainless Baker.I'm glad to hear his store is taking off as he works hard.... I haven't spoke to him for a few months but I'll have to give him a call.

If you haven't tried Everybody Eats baguettes & crusty rolls you are missing out...... they are the very best out in the gluten-free world.

For a excellent glazed donut try Celiac specialities. Not sure if Chris carries that one yet.

If you look on everybody eats website they have a growing list of stores that are carrying their foods in NJ.You may even find one closer to you. I believe Chris supplies those stores....

For pumpkin pie I never bought one as I alway make my own but if you don't want to bother with a crust just grease the pie plate or dish & make the filling according to the directions on the back of the pumpkin can & bake according. No crust but it still is the filling. We add whipped cream after baking. Most of my family leaves the most of the crust anyway. Less calories too!

ahhh.. I guess you live in the area mamaw! Yes Chris is a great guy. I am going there on Wednesday to sample the two pumpkin pies he carries. I bought the french bread to try.. he gave me a sample at the store that he toasted up a bit.. even my mom loved it and she isnt a celiac!

Have you ever been there for his tastings? He said there is some special gluten free dinner going on in South Amboy in a few weeks. I am dying to go.. its like 20.00 a person. Do you know anything about that? If so, please pass on any info you may have!!

I finally found the answer to my own question mamaw.. the gluten free dinner is in Perth Amboy at a Portugese Restaurant. The RSVP was November 3. I wrote an email to the lady running it asking if it was way too late to stick two more people in.. the worst she can say is no.

Its a benefit to help kids in celiac camp during the summers. I hope I can go. It will be so exciting to meet others with the same thing that I have.

I wished I lived in the area!!!!! I met Chris this pass summer & we became friends.... I actually live near Pittsburgh Pa........I didn't know about the dinner but it sounds like it will be very nice & for a great cause too!!!!That's great that Chris does the samplings so that way one is not buying a pig in the poke .... I hate to waste hard earned cash on foods I can't eat.....

The french bread you tried was it Everybody Eats or the Grainless Baker's??? I know the owners of that too. I have met pretty much all of the vendors at one point or another.Store owners too.I travel around searching for good stuff!!!!!When I know of a good product or a good store to shop I help promote them...such as Chris. He is a hard worker tryin to make a living for his family......

The french bread is Everybody Eats. I toasted it last nite to eat with my moms pea soup. OMG, it was like normal bread. I didnt even have bread envy for anyone elses bread! I have the grainless baker crackers. They are onion and cheese. They are pretty good.. great consistency.. but very very oniony. I am going to try to call about the dinner later this evening. I emailed and havent heard back yet.. I hope I can go. It is a great cause. If I cant go.. I can still give a donation.. I will do that too.

      Thank you for your response. I have already learned about the info you sent but i appreciate your effort. I am the only one in my family cursed by this disease. I have to cook for them too. I make sure that my utensils are free of gluten and clean after using them for other food. I use non-porous pots and pans and  gloves when cooking for them. One huge problem I have is a gag reflex out of this world and if something doesn't taste good it is not going down. Most commercially made breads and such taste like old cardboard.Pastas are about the same. I did find one flour that I like and use it regularly, but it is so expensive! All gluten free food is way more expensive. I only eat twice a day because I cannot afford to buy all that. We live on a very low income so my food purchases are quite limited.

      I am new here but celiac disease is not new to me. I was diagnosed with it at age 60. At the time I weighed a whopping 89 pounds. I was so ignorant to celiac so I buried myself in learning all about it and looking for food I could eat. I lost so much weight and stayed sick all the time. So to combat the sickness I was give all sorts of meds for loose bowels and vomiting. All that just made me sicker. Eventually I chucked it all and went back to eating like I had all my life. Now I am from the south and biscuits and gravy are a big part of our food, as are breaded foods, pasta, and sandwich bread. Through the years I would try to do the gluten free thing again and am doing it now. It has not helped any. Within and hour of eating I have to run to the bathroom. I am now 75 and am wondering if I should just forget it and eat what I like, take Immodium and live the best I can. I cannot eat before going anywhere for fear of embarrassing myself. Family and church dinners are out of the question unless I eat and run straight home. I am so frustrated I just want to sit down and cry or throw something. Does everyone go through all this?

      Oh yes I can understand the tiredness after going threw all that, must be exhausting especially on the mind I have high aniexty so I can understand that , I wish there more easier ways for people to get help , I had a MRI on my spine some years ago without anything it was really quick and no prep , I understand the need for  them to see better with the bowel ,but you think they would use something a little less traumatic  for ibd sufferers on the bowels by now ,I hope your feeling better today 🙏
