I need a coffee bean grinder and I want a food processor. Would a food processor grind nuts and coffee beans? Please suggest any favourite brands. Thank you in advance.

I have a Mr Coffee coffee bean grinder that I use all the time for grinding flax seeds and nuts. I like it better than the food processor for nuts, because it does a better job and you don't have to grind as many at one time. marcia

I love my Starbucks grinder. I recommend a KitchenAid processor if you're going to do heavy-duty jobs, or a Cuisinart if not.

I just got a KitchenAid food processor and the instruction booklet says NOT to use it to grind coffee, for what it's worth.

I also have a Starbucks coffee grinder which I love. I'm on my second one (the first one was dropped and something got loose inside) - and it works fabulously. If I were going to use one to grind seeds and nuts, I'd probably get a separate one for coffee (unless you want coffee-flavoured flax seed meal!)

Good points. I think I will buy a separate coffee grinder.

We got one of those "magic bullet" things. Like in the infomercials. It's so cool!! I make starbucks like coffee every morning (decaf tho!)! We even grind our own beans! I use that thing at least every day.

Hope u find something cool!

Thought was finished with this but a friend just sent email saying she takes Tirosin liquid levothyroxine which has no fillers (mentioned by Pgetha above).  Friend's doc sends script to one of Tirosin's direct-mail pharmacies.  Looking that up, government insurance (Medicare/Medicaid) doesn't cover (as Pgetha wrote above).  But if use one of their direct-mail places three month supply is $57/month.  Researching that, happened to learn Yaral also makes a generic gluten-free levothyroxine.

Lysine is helpful for "cold sores" (oral herpes).

As a life.long celiac, I understand this.  I simply ask that the medical profession stop disregarding the fact that it should remain a concern for some. It cost me a lot of medical discomforts.

@dmallbee, about 8% of celiacs react to the oat protein avenin like they do to the wheat protein gluten. In addition, there are some cultivars of oats that apparently do actually contain gluten.
