Arghh... so. today marks the 3rd Friday in a row this year I couldn't leave my house, unless in a Humvee...

I live near Boulder, CO, USA, contrary to lots of ideas across the US, we really don't get much snow here. Untill NOW!

The worst part... is I live in a cul-dec-sac(I'll trade it for the one in Knots Landing...)

They only have like one snow plow in this city. There is still snow piles from 2 weeks ago all over on the street. True... I helped make those snow piles, just to try to get cars in the driveway.

So.. 1st snowstorm == cool I will call into work and play hooky.

2nd snowstorm == hmm.. whatever I'll skip again

3rd(today) == Ack! WTF I am getting crazed here. Only so much I can do from home....

A random weather storm is fun, at least, if you are stuck at home(my wife was stuck on the freeway for 13 hours until the National Gaurd came by in a Humvee to help her out...)

But... we have just now had 3 in a row....

At least... I guess I am not one of the rancher's out here who is having thousands of cattle dying because they are stranded....

i am so jealous of you!! you are complaining about a bunch of snowstorms and right now i would give anything to have a few feet of snow on the ground! I live in northern minnesota where we should be getting a bunch of snow storms but this year there is nothing! and its still in the 40's. winter is my favorite time of the year and it sucks that we aren't getting any real winter here yet. i'm sorry that you don't like it. maybe we should switch places for this winter. haha

I wouldn't mind some of your snow! I am in Canada, we are supposed to have tons of snow and ice right now, and it is so warm (the warmest winter in recorded history) that our maple tree in the backyard is actually BLOOMING! So, since I am allergic to maple pollen, my nose is all stuffed up, and this is not supposed to happen until April! I just hope that it won't harm the tree if we will get some cold weather after all.

One of my daughters and her fiance bought ski passes for this winter, but none of the ski hills are open, they can't even make snow, as it's too warm.

And our youngest isn't happy either, because there are no snow days in sight, for her not having to go to school.

Send your snow here ! We have the worst drought in recorded history affecting most of Australia! Water rationing is in place - gardens are dying. We are not allowed to use water for gardens at all. Farmers have no income. There is barely enough fodder for livestock. Yesterday was 105 F .We are hoping that El Nino finishes this year. As I type we have a howling dust storm. Send snow !!!!

hope your snow storms stop and give you time to take a breath. Here in NJ it's free of snow and I'm glad (as I do the snow shoveling these days and I am not in the best orthopaedic health to be doing that). I remember one year in around 1977 were we had back to back snow storms and I didn't own a car - had to take 2 buses back and forth to work. The snow was piled up so high on the main street where the bus went that the buses could not get through and had to take detours about a mile further out. That was the morning I while walking to bus stop on a hilly street, slippped and fell under a car that just passed me by in the street; then I managed to get to the bus stop and waited 2 hours for my bus that never came (due to the unannounced detour). I walked back home and was cold to the bone and didn't get into work: and got in trouble for not making it into work.

I see snow as problems only - it makes everything more difficult and expensive. Whenever the winter is snowy, my landlord raises the rent to cover the cost to remove the snow (I know he does have expenses). So I am glad we're frost free. It's going to be almost 70 degrees here today; now that's a little extreme - I'd settle for 45 degrees. As long as there's no freezing rain or snow I am happy.

We only have about 2 1/2 feet of snow on the ground. It's beautiful, having said that, people in Colorado and especially their animals are really in trouble. Beautiful only goes so far. I'm sure they would love to send some both back east and to Austrailia.

I really feel sorry for the cattle and horses in Colorado, I fear the death toll will be high for the ones that are unaccessable. :(

Testing can't alone be trusted.  Else why would it take so many years of testing and retesting and misdiagnosis to finally be told, yes you have Celiac Disease. As to what to eat, I like pre 1950 style food.  Before the advent of TV dinners.  Fresh food is better for you, and cooking from scratch is cheaper.  Watch Rachel Ray's 30 Minute Meals for how to cook.  Keep in mind that she is not gluten free, but her techniques are awesome.  Just use something else instead of wheat, barley, rye. Dr Fuhrman is a ex cardiologist.  His book Eat to Live and Dr Davis' book Wheatbelly were instrumental in my survival.

If you have DH you will likely also want to avoid iodine, which is common in seafoods and dairy products, as it can exacerbate symptoms in some people. This article may also be helpful as it offers various ways to relieve the itch--thanks for the tip about Dupixent, and I've added it to the article:

I just want to clarify that what I posted is a category of research summaries we've done over the years, and nearly each one shows that there is definitely a connection to celiac disease and migraine headaches. The latest study said: "the study did indicate some potential causal associations between celiac disease and migraine with or without aura, as well as between migraine without aura and ulcerative colitis...this study did not find evidence of a shared genetic basis..." Anyway, there is definitely a connection, and you can go through more of the articles here if you're interested: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/migraine-headaches-and-celiac-disease/

Two months ago, I started taking Dupixent for dermatitis herpetiformis and it has completely cleared it up. I can't believe it! I have had a terrible painful, intensely itchy rash for over a year despite going fully gluten-free. See if your doctor will prescribe Dupixent. It can be expensive but I am getting it free. When the dermatitis herpetiformis was bad I could not do anything. I just lay in bed covered in ice packs to ease the pain/itching and using way too Clobetasol. Dapsone is also very good for dermatitis herpetiformis (and it is generic). It helped me and the results were immediate but it gave me severe anemia so the Dupixent is better for me. Not sure if it works for everyone. I cannot help with the cause of your stress but from experience I am sure the severe stress is making the celiac and dermatitis herpetiformis worse. Very difficult for you with having children to care for and you being so sick. Would this man be willing to see a family therapist with you? He may be angry at you or imagine that your illness is a psychosomatic excuse not to take care of him. A therapist might help even if he won't go with you. Also do you have any family that you could move in with (with the kids) for a short time to get away? A break may be good for you both.

@tiffanygosci, Thiamine deficiency is a thing in pregnancy for "normal" people, so it's exponentially more important for those with celiac disease and malabsorption issues. I studied nutrition before earning a degree in Microbiology because I was curious what the vitamins were doing inside the body.  See my blog.  Click on my name to go to my page, scroll to drop down menu "activities" and select blog.   So glad you're motivated to see the dietician!  We're always happy to help with questions.  Keep us posted on your progress!
