Don't Need Help, Just A Question

I'm just curious about the difference in "Member" vs. "Advanced Community Member" in the info below our avatars. I thought mine used to say "Advanced", but now it just says "Member". Did I get demoted?

Hi Liz :D

I don't really know--but I would say that no, you didn't get demoted.

I know that the member title used to change with the number of posts a person had--when they reached a certain number, they advanced to the next level.

I was nosing around a little, and I see that all of us that used to be advanced members are now in the members group--I'd say it has something to do with the new version of the board.

Weird, on my last few posts, I am still an advanced community member--hmmmmmm

I don't know this for a "FACT" so please don't pumel me If I'm wrong here, but I believe it has to do with how often you post. If you post so many posts in a certain amount of time then you are moved up, but if you don't post for a day or so then I think you can be moved down. As far as I know it has to do with how many times you post in a certain period of time. I'm not sure if it's per day, week, or month, but it seems as though it has something to do with posts and time!!

If I'm wrong here I'm sure someone will clear it up for us!!

I see that now, Debbie and Electra. I always thought it was based on the number of posts--I wonder if that changed?

Scott--what's the story here? Curious minds need to know :D

Oooo yeah, I just noticed that.

You are an observant lot!!

I was just wondering why I couldn't see anyones avatar...took me a while to realise I had to log in  !!

(why does that log in thing happen now and again?)

I think the group has always been "members", but some of you/us have "advanced community member" under the avatar. Those of you that have put your own label under the avatar now don't see that "advanced" part.

OMG--I think you're right! Never even thought of that. I still think the change is due to the "new" board. I've had something under my custom member title for some time now, and just recently have been changed to "member".

Scott Adams Grand Master

Yes, it is based on the number of posts. Some people have gone into their My Controls-->Edit Profile Information-->Custom member title and changed it. To know for sure what "level" member someone is just look at the graphic.

Take care,

Scott

      Thank you this really helped.

Okay that is really good to know. So with that being positive and the other being high it makes sense she diagnosed her even without the endoscopy. So glad we caught it early. She had so many symptoms though that to me it was clear something was wrong.   yeah I think we had better test us and the other kids as well.

One doctor suggested it, but then seemed irritated when I asked follow-up questions. Oh well—

@GlorietaKaro, your respiratory reactions to gluten make me wonder if there might also be an allergic (anaphylaxis) component at work here.

Thanks to both of you for your responses!  Sadly, even after several years of very strict gluten avoidance, I remember the symptoms well enough that I am too frightened to risk a gluten challenge— heartbeat and breathing problems are scary— Scott, thank you for the specific information— I will call around in the new year to see if I can find anyone. In the meantime, I will carry on has I have been— it’s working! Thanks also for the validation— sometimes I just feel crushed by disbelief. Not enough to make me eat gluten though—
