There's no way I could pull off "knowing" without being caught. The people who didn't make it were too much of a surprise. I think Nicole was the only one that anyone really guessed. My kids never would have bought it. Let's try again next week!

BTW - how did Rudy get voted off? He was one of my top 4 favorites for the guys. And there was one very forgettable guy up there - we all looked at each other and said, "who's that?" None of us remembered even seeing him on Tuesday. I think his name is Rick? And I'm sad that Amy is gone - I thought she was WAY better than Antonella and Alaina. Oh, well, I guess I should just start voting.

I had liked Antoella all the way up until she sang the Aerosmith song, I am a big Aerosmith fan. Rudy was the last one to be voted off. I have to say I loved his Free Ride performance. It made me want to get up and dance. There was one girl who sang and I didn't think it was good at all, but Paula had actually stood up and was dancing with her song. I can't remember who it was. When I watched the girls that night I was dead to world, I had just come home after working a double shift.

I am not nearly as impressed this season so far as I was last. The guys last year would have blown these guys away imo. Anyone else notice they are using Chris Daughtrys song to send them home with? last year it was had a bad day.. this year is Daughtrys Home. A bit ironic since he didnt even win last year!!!

I was really irritated that Antonella didn't get voted off after what she and her best-friend said about being able to get any guy they wanted. That really rubbed me the wrong way and I thought for sure she'd get voted off quickly because of the attitude. I didn't really remember Nicole's performance, so it mustn't have blown me away. I think Antonella definitely should have gotten booted before Amy. Poor thing.

I'm very glad that Sundance stayed on. He was one of my favorites from auditions. I'm scared though that if he has another round like the past two he'll be headed home. He was flawless in the auditions. Too bad the rest of the show he hasn't done too much. I was also glad that Sinjaya stayed on, he's such a sweet kid. I liked that he cried when his sister didn't make it. I thought that was sweet and i really hope he does better this week. He has such an amazing voice, but he certainly didn't shine this past week. I guess so long as Blake, Phil, and Chris Sligh are still on I don't really care who gets voted off for the boys. As for the girls, I'm really hoping that LaKisha can make it all the way, that poor girl deserves to know that she's great. And I like that she's doing this all for her little girl, Brionne. I think that's sweet. She's amazing and she'll keep getting my votes. :)

Tinkerbellswt... Is it actually Chris singing in the vote off song??? I didn't even notice!

Guy- I like Blake Chris, S. and Phil, although Sanjaya is a cutie and I believe he'll get votes for that, I don't think he is quit good enough as far as the "whole package" goes.

Girls are hard for me, they all seem alike. That's the problem I had with Cathrine last year, she didn't seem any different to me than any other pretty girl with a good voice. Even in her interviews now she seems boring. I think Jordin is going to be my favorite, she can sing and she seems interesting, and sweet.

LOL It sure is Chris singing it. It is the second song on his album called Home. I had my mom replay it today b/c she couldnt believe the irony there too! and my dad picked his voice right out, knew it was him right away!

Wow.. an Idol thread... I love that show!!

I really like LaKisha too. I don't have a favorite for the guys yet.

I find I'm not looking forward to Idol nites like last year. Probably because there is no rocker. I hope the guys step it up tonight, I'm not going to sit through another boring nite.

I was much more amused during the girls performance last week....besides the two or three guys, the rest sang very slow songs. The majority in my office turned it off last week because they got bored.

Well, the guys were far better tonight! Blake rocked! I also liked Chris S. The other Chris had a good performance, but I don't like him. He reminds me of KFed. I don't know if they look alike or it's the punk factor. I'm sorry to say but I think Sanjaya is going home (unless he gets the cutie vote). And I also think either Brandon or Nicholas is going home. What do you all think?

Blake was amazing last night!!! Chris R. was pretty good too. I'm really starting to like some of the guys now.

Phil did good, I believed he sang Tom Waite's (sp?) I Ain't Missing You. I think that's right.

I thought the guys did great last night! I'm thinking Sanjaya might be leaving, Brandon might leave too just because he picked a slow and somewhat boring song. Looking forward to the girls tonight. Missed them last week. :(

Vote for the Worst site is pushing votes for Sundance and Antonella. Unfortunately I do think those anti-AI people do make a difference at least in these earlier shows. The guys were sooo boring! I kind of liked Blake and Chirs R., but I'm thinking i won't bother watching the guys anymore until they're down to the top 12 :rolleyes:

I tend to agree! I watched a little bit last night, but had to go to bed at 9, lol, so didn't see them all, but from what I saw, they were just so-so.

I think we might see Antonella go home. She sounded horrid. She took on way to big of a song, thought she was better than she is.

But I enjoyed the girls.

      Celiac support is hard to find

      EDIT: I did find a monthly Zoom meeting for Celiacs through the Celiac Disease Foundation, so I'll be able to talk with some other people on January 15. And I also found a Celiac Living podcast on Spotify made by a celiac. I feel a little bit better now and I am still hoping I will find some more personal connections in my area.

      Welcome to the celiac.com community, @mamaof7! It means for the one celiac disease antibody test that was ordered, she tested negative. However, other tests should have been ordered, especially for someone so young who would have an immature immune system where there would be a high probability of being IGA deficient.       Help understand results

      For reference, daughter is 18 mths old. Was having painful severe constipation with pale stool and blood also bloating (tight extended belly.) Liver and gallbladder are normal. Ultrasound was normal. Dr ordered celiac blood test. We took her off gluten after blood draw. She is sleeping better, no longer bloated and stools are still off color but not painful...

      I have been feeling so lonely in this celiac disease journey (which I've only been on for over 4 months). I have one friend who is celiac, and she has been a great help to me.       Welcome to the celiac.com community, @mamaof7! It means for the one celiac disease antibody test that was ordered, she tested negative. However, other tests should have been ordered, especially for someone so young who would have an immature immune system where there would be a high probability of being IGA deficient.  The one test that was ordered was an IGA-based antibody test. It is not the only IGA antibody test for celiac disease that can be run. The most common one ordered by physicians is the TTG-IGA. Whenever IGA antibody tests are ordered, a "total IGA" test should be included to check for IGA deficiency. In the case of IGA deficiency, all other IGA tests results will be inaccurate. There is another category of celiac disease antibody tests that can be used in the case of IGA deficiency. They are known as IGG tests. I will attach an article that gives an overview of celiac disease antibody tests. All this to say, I would not trust the results of the testing you have had done and I would not rule out your daughter having celiac disease. I would seek further testing at some point but it would require your daughter to have been eating normal amounts of gluten for weeks/months in order for the testing to be valid. It is also possible she does not have celiac disease (aka, "gluten intolerance") but that she has NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity, or just "gluten sensitivity" for short) which is more common. The difference is that celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that damages the lining of the small bowel whereas NCGS does not autoimmune in nature and does not damage the lining of the small bowel, though the two conditions share many of the same symptoms. We have testing to diagnose celiac disease but there are no tests for NCGS. To arrive at a diagnosis of NCGS, celiac disease must first be ruled out. A gluten free diet is the solution to both maladies.

She is sleeping better, no longer bloated and stools are still off color but not painful.    "GLIADIN (DEAMID) AB, IGA FLU Value  0.84 Reference Range: 0.00-4.99 No further celiac disease serology testing to be performed. INTERPRETIVE INFORMATION: Deamidated Gliadin Peptide (DGP) Ab, IgA A positive deamidated gliadin (DGP) IgA antibody result is associated with celiac disease but is not to be used as an initial screening test due to its low specificity and only occasional positivity in celiac disease patients who are negative for tissue transglutaminase (tTG) IgA antibody."   Anyone know what in the world this means. She isn't scheduled to see GI until late April.

When we got that the doctor was quite annoyed that the gp hadn’t advised to go gluten free immediately as she explained that her numbers were so high that celiac disease was fairly evident. That doctor advised to switch to a gluten-free diet immediately which we did but she also got her bloods taken again that day as it made sense to double check considering she was maintaining a normal diet and they came back with a result of 128. The hospital doctor was so confident of celiac disease that she didn’t bother with any further testing. Cristiana, thank you for the information on the coeliac UK site however I am in the Rrpublic of Ireland so I’ll have to try to link in with supports there. I appreciate your replies I guess I’ll figure things as we go I just feel so bad for her, her skin is so sore around her mouth  and it looks bad at an age when looks are becoming important. Also her anxiety is affecting her sleep so I may have to look into some kind of therapy to help as I don’t think I am enough to help. thanks once again, it’s great to be able to reach out xx

I have been Googling "celiac support groups" for the last couple days and there is nothing in the Northern Illinois area. I might reach out to my GI and dietician, who are through NW Medicine, to see if there are any groups near me. I cannot join any social media groups because I deleted my FB and IG last year and I have no desire to have them back (although I almost made a FB because I'm desperate to connect with more celiacs). I'm glad I have this forum. I am praying God will lead me to more people to relate to. In my opinion, celiac disease is like the only food- related autoimmune disease and it's so isolating. Thanks for walking alongside of me! I'm glad I know how to help my body but it's still not easy to deal with.
