Hello everyone. I am a little down tonigh. I had a couple of good days near the end of this past week. I even had an appetite for the first timein months. That all ended yesterday (Sunday) morning. I had diarrhea when I woke up and I have pretty much had it since. It's MOnday nioght now and I keep getting struck with diarrhea. The only good part is that I am not in a lot of pain with it (while going or after going), but the need to go when I get hit has been extremely urgent. I have had some close calls! :(

Walter,

Sorry to hear you have been under the weather. "D" is never fun. I know I have had some close calls too, some too close for comfort. Hope you are feeling better.

That's great that you've had some good days. I'm sorry you've gotten hit with something again. Those close calls are horrible.

Dear Walter,

I can relate to the close calls, too. I had one of those the other day. :( Have you tried taking anything for it? Ammodium AD is mentioned frequently on here. I hope you can start having more good days, soon.

Sincerely,

Hi Walter, sorry you are not feeling good.

I can relate to that also. Can you take any mediction for the D, and you tolerate rice or apples or bananas, this is what the doctor tell us to give to the kids.

I hope you feel better, hang in there. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Best regards to you.

I'm sorry to hear you don't get that many good days. Its taking me about two years now to figure out its just not gluten that bothers me. I remember reading one of your posts where you got sick and thinking its got to be something other then gluten since you seem to be so careful.

Hope you feel better soon. Maybe eat those same foods you ate during those two good food days again to see if you get the same results and add other foods alittle at a time and record the results.

Thanks everyone. I'm doing a little better. There have been a couple days here and there when my appetite is back and I am hungry- that hasn't happened in ages. On those days I eat a little bit more. Not a ton of food, just a little more, and I tend to get very bloated and sick forn that tiny bit of extra food. It's annoyinh, I just have to stick to small bland portions still if I want to function. I'll be taking my class on a field trip on June 11th. I have absolutley NO IDEA what to do about bathroom stuff on that day! I may not eat the night before or the day of! Any suggestions to help with that?

Walter:

Do a food journal, you're a teacher it should not be an issue.

Get one of those ugly composition books and do a daily journal. One page do breakfast, lunch and dinner...snacks included. Every page is a daily entry.

That is the best I know..to help you get to the root of your issues.

See what happens.

Dear Walter,

I would definitely go with the others' suggestions here. Ammodium would be a good insurance policy against the runs. Plus, as bluejeangirl and Momma Goose mentioned, a food journal would be a smart move. You can do a rotation diet to see what you react badly to. Then, you can eliminate what you cannot tolerate. Sometimes, when we eat foods with a lot of ingredients, we have no idea what our system is reacting to. That complicates matters quite a bit.

Sincerely,

NoGluGirl

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
