Smoothies At Caribou Coffee

Does anyone know the ingredients in the Passion Fruit Green Tea smoothy from Caribou Coffee? I've looked on their website for nutritional information and it just lists the common stuff - calories, sugar, sodium, etc. The actual ingredients are not found. My daughter loves these and I want to make sure that they're safe for her to drink. The people actually serving the beverages don't have a clue.

I recently got this response from the customer service rep. I got this within the past week:

Thank you for taking time to write us with your questions. We at Caribou

Coffee are sensitive to the needs of our customers with dietary

restrictions, including gluten allergies. We are consistently working to

make these concerns known and to produce such nutritional information

available more readily, however, we unfortunately do not have a list

compiled. Coffee and espresso contain no gluten or soy, nor does regular

or 2% milk, also, our flavored syrups are gluten-free. For this reason,

our coffee of the day, lattes and cappuccinos are not considered serious

gluten or soy risks. Also, our flavored syrups and chocolate syrups are

gluten-free. No such claim can be made for our specialty drinks

(Coolers, mochas, Wild drinks) as many ingredients (such as candy

toppings) come from third party vendors. If you wish, these items can be

made without topping to avoid these ingredients.

Please note that at Caribou, as at all restaurants, cross-contamination

is not an insignificant risk. We will do our best to accommodate your

dietary restrictions but remind you that the ultimate decision -- and

responsibly -- is yours alone. I hope this information is helpful to you

as you make your coffee decisions. I have also passed your

correspondence to the Marketing department to consider in their future

nutritional information offerings. If I can be of any further

assistance, please let me know. Thank you again for your inquiry and for

making Caribou a part of your coffee experience!

Sincerely,

Lisa Curski

Yes. I have not been tested for celiac. It took forever to get diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. lol. I have an appointment with my regular GP later this month and will convey my findings on improved symptoms and see what his thoughts are. Thank you.

@Grahamsnaturalworld, It's never too late.   Have you been checked for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth?  SIBO can cause ongoing symptoms.  Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and Histamine Intolerance (HIT) can also be the cause of ongoing symptoms.  The AIP diet can help with these by starving out SIBO bacteria and calming the immune system. Do you include dairy in your diet?  Casein in dairy can cause an autoimmune response the same as to gluten.  Have you been checked for lactose intolerance?  Some people lose the ability to produce the enzyme, lactase, needed to digest lactose, the sugar in dairy because the villi where the lactase enzyme is made are...

Ok, thanks for the advice, the only advice I've had that's made sense after 21years since my slight symptoms all my life turned into nasty symptoms 21 yrs ago and around 50 gp's and specialists all chasing the symptoms and not looking for the cause, after 9 years of misery I discovered my symptoms matched celiac disease and a blood test proved anti bodies to gliadin but it was too late it has changed into r.c.d. thanks again.

Welcome to the forum, @QueenBorg! Just for the sake of clarification, your desire to avoid gluten is connected only with your dx of fibromyalgia and not celiac disease, correct?

Thanks for the reply. I’ll call Colace to be sure.  I was just wondering if anyone had already gone through this:) I have not seen any gluten-free labeling on the package but I know that doesn’t mean it’s not gluten-free. The labeling is more of a comfort thing for me.  Do you think I need to worry about cross contamination if they say no gluten ingredients?  I’m so strict with being gluten-free but realize many manufacturers may have cya statements and the products are safe   Will look into Phillips as well. The surgeon recommended Colace and to add MiraLAX if needed so I actually need to get both as he says one of the worst things is to get constipated post surgery.
