Is this related to celiac. My step son, is having problems with his knees, The other day he was pulling weeds and it popped out like 3 times and they have hurt ever since. We took him to the dr about 2 months ago about his knees hurting but they said it was nothing. But we all know drs dont really know that much lol So i was just wondering if it had to do with celiac or if there is anything else we need to look in to, or if there is anything we can do about it.

Well, what does "popping out" mean? There's a lot of things that can happen in that joint. Did you take him to an orthopaedist that specializes in knees? If not, given that this is now a recurring problem, I suggest doing so.

Well from what he tells me, he said he was getting ready to stand up and he felt like his knee dislocated like 3 times then it popped back into place. I know the dr did say before it could be growing pains, but i dont think that causes knees to pop out.

The poor kid is so tired of doctors and specialist. But i think you are right, time for an ortho.. dr. He has to go to the allergy doctor on friday, maybe i can get him in to a ortho dr the same day, that way he gets it all over with the same time.

My heart just breaks that he has to go threw all of this at age 13, i just want him to be normal, ya know.

I'd take him to a proper knee doctor, too. For years I had popping behind my knee which could have felt like a knee popping out and it was cause by my kneecap not sitting level. If he hasn't had an injury that would cause this, I'm going to guess it's an alignment issue. PT can often correct the muscle imbalances that cause misalignments. If there are no (or minimal) muscle imbalances and there's still an alignment problem, you could also try taking him to a chiropractor and getting his knees adjusted. I'd also have a chiro or doctor look at the feet and hips because issues there can cause knee pain (although if this happens while kneeling in the garden, it seems like it may be isolated to the knee joint).

Well he said that they both hurt but the left one is the one that pops the most. I asked him if it hurt when he jumps on the tramp and he said yes. But he said when it popped he fell to the ground and it was a real burning pain. and after he did stand up again it popped again and it hurt again. The left side is a little swollen. Im wonderin if its like an acl or something. He is very althetic and he said they have hurt for some time. He is so afraid to tell us anything cause of all the drs he had to see for everytihing else.

I cant find an ortho dr here in this town, ughhh why do i live in a small town.

It may require a long drive, but he needs to be seen. I second the PT/chiro approach to find out if it's muscular or structural, after an ortho rules out the obvious. Knees are important to keep in decent shape, and are one of the weaker points in the body.

Yes, if you are convinced gluten is causing you problems then it would seem to come down to NCGS but you may also have other intolerances.

There are huge categories of gluten-free foods, are there any particular types of foods that you are trying to find?

Ended up demanding HLA and I’m negative for both. So assuming this is NCGs now? PCP seems unsure and GI is referring to genetics which I don’t get.  about to lose my mind

You are definitely not alone aftertastes and denser interiors are really common with gluten-free baking. Oat and tigernut flours are great choices, and tweaks like extra egg or adjusting hydration are exactly the kind of trial and error that usually leads to better texture over time.
