I bought a tray of Tandy Cakes made by Gluten Free 4 Me today, but I'm half afraid to try them. This is the thing I miss more than anything. I used to love those little tastycake tandy cakes, the peanut butter ones. Anyway, I went to their website tonight and noticed that they also make hot dog buns among many other tasty looking things. Has anyone tried their stuff? Is it good?

Oops, I guess they're called Kandy Kakes. They're amazing little cakes covered in peanut butter and enrobed in chocolate. They were my favorite treat pre-dx.

Ok, I couldn't wait... I had to try one... They are aboslutely AMAZING!!! They taste exactly like the real thing!!! For those of you who miss Kandy Kakes, you GOTTA try these!!! You can order them off their website at www.glutenfree4me.com. They are SO worth the $5!!! Now I'm wishing I had bought some of the other Gluten Free 4 Me stuff at the store. My nearest family owned market stocks their stuff.

I LOVE GLUTEN FREE 4 ME :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM. I never mention them a lot on here, as I don't know who has access to them. My mom gets them for me in PA. I've gotten their hot dog buns, hamburger buns, and sandwich bread. I don't use the hot dog buns as buns....I cut them up and make bruschetta, garlic bread, and other snacks. HB buns I use for sandwiches, or a roll with dinner.

I definitely give them a big thumbs up.

I love their Chocolate Chip Cookies, banana bread and everything else I have tasted made by them. I also only get their stuff if my Mom sends it or go to visit her and stop by the Gluten Free Source in Dillsburg.

YUM!!!

Those sound very yummy, however they only ship in a handfull of states (with the exception of their flour) according to their website. The whoopie pies on their site look SOO good!! Someone will have to eat one for me ;)

Wow, that's really a shame, Jessica. I didn't see the part where they said they only ship to the surrounding states. :( I'm glad I live in PA!!! :)

I am glad I live here too, grainless baker (who have really moved into the surrounding states), gluten free for me, and Wegmans. I am spoiled.

I just tried the June Special. Whoopie pies, tandy cakes, bread, pizza crusts, snickerdoodles, chocolate chip cookeies, blueberry muffins and coffee cake muffins. It is hard to say which is the best. I have also tried the iced brownies. Eveything was incredible. I love, love, love the tandy cakes, the whoopie pies are incrediable as is the chocolate chip cookies, and iced brownies. Just got it a few days ago, and I am trying not to devour it. Still have the muffins, bread and pizza crusts. If there is any way to work it out and try it, you will not be sorry. I have also bought the flour mix and just use my regular recipes and replace enriched flour with the GF4 me flour. Can't tell a difference. Made it for a church gathering and everyone ranted and raved. I had not told anyone it was gluten-free. You should have seen everyones face. They had thought the gluten-free meant no taste. They were very impressed. I am once again in charge of desserts. I highy suggest trying the products. I love sweets and I am so happy to have somehting normal agian. Now I have to be careful not to order to often or the pounds would just keep adding up!!!!

War Eagle.

What I do, is have my Mom send it to me.

They won't ship to AL because it takes too long and they want their stuff eaten or frozen by the time I would get it. Most fresh bakeries will not mail long distance unless they mail it frozen. They don't want you to get a stale product. Can't really blame them.

I will have to try the flour.

Maryjk-

I was at grad school at Auburn when I was dx'ed in Aug 04. We didn't know about GF4me at that point, but my mom (in PA) and other family members would send me care packages with gluten-free goodies that I couldn't find in Auburn. Moms are the best :)

You mean like, everything.

I love to visit PA, or MD, or GA, or really anywhere. The stores down here carry so little. I get almost everything on line or when traveling.

There is a new Kroger that just opened today. They seem to have more. The health food section is larger than any store around here. Maybe if I can get in good with the manager I can get him to order more stuff.

And, yes, Moms are the best.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
