I was looking at some old threads and read about FlyLady. It's amazing! I am a great procrastinator and it looks like it might be worth trying! I just wondered if anybody else does this?

I've done flylady since 2002. It's a wonderful way to get more organized without guilt. I hope you give it a try!

Sorry, I should have posted the website. It's Open Original Shared Link. It's a new way to approaching cleaning and organization. They say everything can be done in 15 minutes. It looks really cool. I am going to Target later tonight to get a timer so I can start with it tomorrow.

I'm a flybaby since October 2005 -- it's changed my LIFE!!! I don't do absolutely everything, but I'm surprised at all of the routines I've incorporated easily into my life.

I also subscribe to Savingdinner.com -- the menus she promotes. I use the regular menu mailer for 6, which is usually gluten free (or very easy to subsitute gluten-free ingredients). She also just came out with a gluten free menu mailer on the Low Carb edition -- I got my mom a subscription for her birthday. I could go on and on about the system and how great it is!! And the menus are so great. I've done them for a year now and I'm so proud especially of my kids -- they actually EAT VEGGIES now!!! And I save $$ and am not stressed about dinners anymore.

I used to follow Flylady and have fallen off the wagon for a while now. I am going to give it a try again too. I was thinking about it last night, so it's funny to see this thread here this morning! Maybe we could all help each other!!

Today, I'm getting control of my kitchen and cleaning off the counters (and shining my sink, of course!)

I'm going to check out the dinner site. That is my worst nightmare!!

I did try it a few years ago, but never really stuck with it. I really need to though, lol, my house is a total disaster and every surface in it is a hot spot.

I tried for a week but just couldn't take all those emails!!! :P:P They have some good information on the website - I've done' some browsing - just to pick up some ideas/hints.

tabdegner Apprentice

The emails can definitely be overwhelming. You can sign up for the "digest" version, where you get all the emails in one big long email once a day. (Not everyone knows about that!!)

confusedks Enthusiast

I started yesterday. I am going into a new school year and I;m freaking out because I neglect laundry, my chores, etc. Instead of cleaning the kitchen sink, I do my bathroom sink because my mom does the kitchen sink. That would be great if we could all support each other! I'd love that!

Kassandra

About the emails, they are annoying, but they're really helpful. I get sidetracked by the computer so when I check my emails and get a reminder...it's neat.

Cheri A Contributor

I'm not going to sign up again because of the emails. I am going to just go to the website and read the things.

Yesterday did not go so well for me. I was sidetracked by EVERYTHING - the kids, the phone, people stopping by etc. So, I'm trying again today.

I had never heard of this but just saw a story. Amazing that this woman is making millions doing this.

That was an interesting article. I don't really know what I thought about it...it was a little mean to her. I don't think she's nagging at all. It's so easy to just delete the "15 e-mails" which I only get about 4 a day...so I don't know where that number came from? Oh well. ;)

I am on day 4 of Flybabying and I am going to look at the saving dinner book at my bookstore. I'm excited.

Thanks for the article link. I didn't think it was very nice to her either. It really wouldn't make me want to check out the site with all the nagging. But, hey, more power to her that she is able to make this a successful business and help people!! I didn't like all the emails either so that's why I just check the website.

Yesterday was a much better day for me.

I checked out the saving dinner site that was recommended and printed out some of the free menus. Way cool!!

How's all the flybabies?

I've just checked the site and had to ROFL that the zone this week is the master bedroom. That is THE WORST room in my house, I'm embarrassed to say. It's my dumping ground. SO, it will take me way longer than 15 minutes to get everything off my dresser, nightstand and backboard. I've got a load of laundry going and will swipe and swish my bathroom when I take my shower. I also have my menu planned for the week. :P

Kassandra,

Hi, my daughter insisted I check out the flylady after a carwreck sent me into a tailspin and my spotless home went into dissaray. I was a perfectionist that did nothing because I didn't have a month to get it all done. and the flylady was the kindest person in my life. My home is now a home again. All the health issues of Celiac impacted the projects i wanted to do also, but she gave me a vision and encouragement with out the criticism or guilt, for improvement. the 5 minute timer works wonders. and the longer you stick with it the easier life in the home cleaning arena gets.

I love the fact that now I can take a play day and feal good about it. You don't have to buy a thing from her and she will still help you. If it is the same as a couple years ago.

Best of Flylady

I think I found a huge culprit for severe reactions to create worsening of my c symptoms. Do people with celiac have sensitivity and /or have opposite reaction to certain medications Where can I find a list ?  I'm new here I'm.wondering why I am getting worse when I take certain medicine...the burning feet.  Rebound muscle pain so intense  How many people get opposite effects or have a horrible attack after these meds

Does anyone know if that includes scrambled eggs and healthy smart butter (,gluten free) I add a very tiny amount of margarine less than a teaspoon.  I did no't have any bread    It just seems like no matter what I eat my stomach and nerves over fire and here comes a host of horrible symptoms. My lower abdomen feels horrible, my right leg thigh muscle.. very odd. Jaw pain. Burning feet , joint pain , you name it  The anxiety just creeps up into brain fog. I don't think I could explain this to anyone who is unfamiliar.  Also,  I most likely will not remember posting this until I check it.  This is highly unusual for me because I have an excellent memory.  One weekend before I knew anything about celiac I lost an entire weekend from severe brain fog, confusion, pain, etc.  I honestly thought I was losing my mind. When I think back I recall eating a lot of PBJ sandwiches and turkey sandwiches.  Once again did not know about gluten.  I was just too sick to cook. Do people fast during attacks ?? It seems horrible to keep going through this. I hope I'm not causing my own problems... I wonder if I should fast because I'm not eating gluten .  Chicken ,  scrambled eggs no milk , canned carrots,  gluten free low sugar low fat Greek yogurt which I already posted about 😞 Any suggestions I am open... I am bedridden when this happens to me.  Thank you Celiac community. 🙏🏻❤️

Yeah, that sounds super familiar. When inflammation levels are high — especially at the start of changing your diet — the body often develops a fructose and lactose intolerance. Unfortunately, the only thing that really helps is cutting out anything that isn’t lactose-free or that contains sugar. So basically, stick to meat, veggies, fish…

I have trouble with nausea. It often starts when I’m anxious about something (home repairs, sick dog) but continues long after the home is repaired or the dog is healthy again. When it happens I eat less and lose weight.  My gastroenterologist suggested ginger or peppermint tea. I don’t know if that will work or not because I haven't had the problem since she suggested it.

Hello  I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.  Horrible pain..plus acid reflux and nausea... sensitivity to touch pain. ..yikes !! I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you
