I AM READY TO CRY ... I MADE THE BEST COOKIES THANKS TO THE Pamela's pancake mix .. I used the chocolate cake mix for the baby now 2 year olds cake ,,, EVERYONE LOVED IT >..

With the cookies ... I made sugar cookies.. I used confectioner sugar to spread over the cut outs.. It added to the sugar flavor and they were undestigishable . I cannot believe how good the Pamelas mix is .. IT IS BISQUICKS gluten-free SIBLING... you can do all the things with this that you could do with bisquick.

I think that the chocolate cake mix is better than any Duncan Hines that I remember. I just love it.

Have you tried the pancakes . . . they're good, too.

Somebody has posted a recipe for "Almost like Pamela's" baking mix if you find that you are going through a lot of it. Just do a search in this category. It wasn't too long ago.

Open Original Shared Link. I am using up my third batch of it today, and need to make more. I made the Pamela's chocolate chip cookies with it yesterday, and it works great. It is about 1/3 the price of the Pamela's mix.

I'm just getting started with Gluten free, been a week now, and most of the things I have tried aren't bad at all. This board has helped me out a lot. I've been reading tons of posts and finding out what's good and what I should avoid.

I just finished eating Pamela's pancakes and OMG, they are delicious! I like them better than any other pancake I have ever had.........I'm just amazed. :P:lol:

Scott I also have different symptoms than most people. It affects me bad. Stomach ache, headache, nauseous, heart racing, whole body shaking, can't walk then my throat starts to close. It attacks my nervous system. The only thing that saves me is a 1/2 of Xanax...it calms down my nervous system

Scott Adams. I was dealing with a DR that didn't care about me being celiac. I repeatedly told him that I was celiac and is everything gluten-free. He put an acrylic lens from j&j. I called the company to ask about gluten and was told yes that the acrylic they use has gluten....then they back tracked immediately and stopped talking to me. The Dr didn't care that I was having issues. It took me 6 months and a lot of sickness to get it removed.... which can only happen within 6 months. The Dr that took it out said that it was fused and that's why I lost vision. If they would have removed it right away everything would be fine. He put in a silicone one that was gluten-free and I've had no issues at all in the other eye. Do not do acrylic!

Welcome @Martha Mitchell, I too would like to know more about your prior lenses, and especially about the potential of gluten in lenses. In theory this should not harm most celiacs, as the autoimmune reaction normally begins in the gut, however, in those who are super sensitive or have dermatitis herpetiformis it may be a potential issue.

It's most likely going to be a celiac disease diagnosis based on your blood test results, but wait for your doctor to give you a green light for going gluten-free, as they may want to do additional testing. This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):
