Giant Brand Split Peas (uncooked)

I just bought some giant brand split peas (a bag of green and a bag of yellow). Has anyone had these before? I checked on their website and couldn't find info on the Giant Brand products. I emailed them, but have not heard back yet. Thanks in advance for any help!

What does it say on the ingredients bag. If it only list green and yellow peas, it is gluten free because it contains no gluten ingredients.

Rinse it well and enjoy your soup.

Some of the dry bean mixes do contain barley as an ingredient, but it is CLEARLY listed.

The ingredients don't list any gluten so it looks like I'm good to go! Yay! I asked because I purchased a bag of Goya chickpeas a few weeks ago thinking that there couldn't possibly be any problem with them and when I got home I read a statement on the bag that said that the product may contain traces of wheat (I guess due to the processing facility). Anyway, I guess I'm overly paranoid now about beans. I'll make sure I rinse well - I'm not always good about that :). Thanks for your help!

I recently just noticed this myself. I got paranoid and threw them out since after I ate some of the chickpeas, I felt rather icky and nothing else that day (as far as I could remember) could have set me off. I didn't feel too bad since there wasn't many left in the bag but to play it safe I'm going to look around for one that doesn't state "may contain wheat". For certain beans (like lentils and chickpeas) I like having dry since I don't use them as quick as the other canned beans.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
