I know this is an older talk going on about egg intolerance but I wanted to add my issues. I too used to eat eggs with no problem after being diagnosed 2 years ago. As of about 7 or 8 months ago I haven't been able to eat eggs anymore. I get bloated, pain in my stomach  and feel sick to my stomach for quite some time after I eat them. Needless to say I avoid them now I too can eat them in cooked breads, cakes, ect with no problems. My gastro dr doesn't think it's true he wanted me to try boiled eggs by themselves to see if it's true, I don't feel like going thru that again so I haven't done it. Dairy seems to be fine also with me altho he wants me to do lactose free which is fine too. Anyway it's good to know I'm not the only one having an issue with eggs.

Welcome :) You may want to look at the AIP diet as there's some compelling evidence it can help people recover foods that they've become intolerant too.

Egg yolks bother me as I lack the enzymes to process them (look up enzyme deficiencies) as to intolerance...they randomly develop with this disease and spike after exposure. I call them rolling intolerance because they come and go for weeks to months at a time and normally correlate to foods I was eating when I got glutened.....want funny...I currently can not eat iceberg lettuce without puking my guts out.....red leaf is fine, romaine is fine, but iceberg is not.....been months still have it, last time it took just a few weeks to go away.

Hi all, I’ve been gluten-free for 12 years.  Found out cause of dh.  Twice now in the past month I’ve gotten so super sick from duck eggs.  Worse or equal to a bad gluten reaction.  I’m on this thread after a search for reaction to duck eggs.  I remember when my dr first diagnosed me she was researching eggs causing a reaction cause of the grain.  She was celiac also.  I read a medical study that said there is a different protein in the whites of duck eggs than hen eggs.  I’m still recovering today.  I happen to also be in the middle of some kind of herpes or shingles type event.  My whole body itches, cold sore went from mouth, which I’ve had b4, up into my nose and my eyes.  I’m going to eye dr in a few days, started valtrex Sunday night.  All this is new and WOW! what a double whammy w the duck eggs.  Just like the worst food poisoning I’ve ever had. Which is how I react to gluten too.  Hope all you are feeling well.  This is a hard and annoying disease!!!  Bless

Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.
