Hi there yeh I made it day 9 and am finally starting to see some great improvements...at least with brain fog, energy, sad moods laughing more, etc but I am now having a few other strange symptoms has anyone experienced this I now feel like I have mucus in my chest that wont come out ( I am doing a parasite cleans to hopefully help) mu nose feels stuffy with thick mucus too and my period wont start it is 3 days late which is unusual for me....is this normal??

Any input would be great....

PS for anyone who read my older post re my naturalpath I have since decided to leave her and move on she seemed to have no interest in the fact this was Celiac issues and that I was getting better without all of her mumbo jumbo herbs and spices and B12 shots etc so I have since decided to move on and save my $$$ for more enjoyable things in life YEH me !!!!! maybe it is the gluten-free diet that has given me the mental brain clearing :D anyone come across similar experience with there Dr/ naturalpathic Drs

My first period gluten-free was 4 days late and it has stayed that way....dunno why.

And yes new symptoms spring up now and again, but overall improvement. :)

Hang in there!

I am glad you are starting to feel better. Have you checked your shampoo and conditioner? They could be contibuting to the back itch especially if you have long hair.

It is so wonderful when we start to feel good again and I hope you continue to improve.

My first period after going gluten free was three days early and only lasted two days. But I also noticed more cramping and gastrointestinal discomfort when it arrived.

It takes the body a while to detox. And I have read that the "itch" is sometimes from leakage with gas that then irritates the area. Or the pH of your poop is changing and the body is adjusting.

I'm very confused... My blood test came out negative, I checked all antibodies. I suppose my Total IgA levels are normal (132 mg/dl), so the test should be reliable. Still, I'm not relieved as I can't tolerate even a single biscuit. I need to talk to my doctor about whether a duodenal biopsy is necessary. But it is really possible to have intestinal damage despite having a seronegative results? I have really strong symptoms, and I don't want to keep skipping university lectures or being bedridden at home.

They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

@JettaGirl, "Coeliac" is the British spelling of "celiac". Same disease.

This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.
