I feel slightly invisible in this forum; whenever I go and view a post, then look to see how many "views" there have been of that post, it never increments. In other words, the fact that I looked at it apparently doesn't count. Is that because I'm new, or is it something else?

I believe views are updated periodically, not in real-time.

The weekends around here are always slow. Sometimes it takes some time for someone to address your post.

Thanks for the explanation. You're right; I went back and looked at one of the posts I had viewed, and sure enough, now it's showing 20 views instead of 0.

Thanks Momma Goose.

That's not what I was concerned about. Althought I would LOVE for someone to answer my questions (in my other post in the Pre-Diagnosis and Testing section), I wasn't asking about why no one had done so thus far. I just wondered about the counters for "views" of the posts, and why I was able to view several different posts without apparently having any effect on their view counters.

As to someone replying to my other post, I do hope that will happen, but I realize that the right person has to look at it first. I assume that if no one has answered, maybe it's just that those who have viewed it really don't know the answers.

Rissa,

I saw your original post, but did not reply because I don't know anything about interaction between celiac disease and steroids in general, much less your specific question about prednisone.

Weekends are quiet here. Maybe most members visit the board while at work. We own our business, so company time and personal time are the same thing for us.

I'm sure someone who knows will reply.

As noted, the "views" statistic is updated periodically and, as a result, is often presented as less than the actual count.

Welcome to the board.

That must be nice! Unfortunately my personal time for surfing the web is the weekend...my employers would frown on doing it during working hours!

Although lunchtime is always a possibility.....

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
