I'm getting married next year and am now in that process of just beginning to think of bakeries etc, that may be able ot produce a nice Gluten Free Wedding Cake. Does anyone know of flexible bakeries in Michigan that might be able to do this? Any suggestions are very welcome!

Thanks! :D

I am a cake decorator...in CA. But I belong to a web site that is a bible for most decorators. The site is CakeCentral.com. If you can't find one here, please try there. I am sure one of the cake decorator's would be able to help. I will post a message and ask too.

try out www.celiacspecialties.com they are located in Chesterfield, Mi.

Sugar Kisses bakery in Rochester or Royal Oak, Mi.

If you are in the Metro Detroit area there are a few more.

If I were looking for a wedding cake for myself, I would contact The Townsend in Birmingham, Mi. It is the hotel for the rich and famous visitors to the area. I believe they would be willing to work with anyone's specific needs.

any Bakery that does wedding cakes ought to be able to help you. When I got married, I gave my cake maker a recipe to follow and all went great.

Another option might be to have a cheese cake wedding cake. Cheese cake doesn't need to contain gluten flour. Our cake had 5 layers. 3 on tiers and two large rounds (one on each side of the main cake) The two rounds were cheese cake.

The Fedewa's are really awesome, located in the Lansing area. Check them out!

As far as I know and I have made severalonline searches, celiac disease disease has not been recognized as a cause of migraines or any eye problems. What I wrote must have been confusing.

Interesting, when I suffered for a few months with ectopics I noticed that carbohydrates would cause indigestion and bloating in my stomach, then that would lead to my heart skipping beats, and I could feel it in my throat, it was very unsettling.  My last serious bout of this was after eating a Muller Rice Pudding for breakfast.   I happened to be wearing a 48 hour halter at the time and cardiology picked it up, but they weren't worried about what they saw. There was some British doctor who'd made some videos on the Vagus nerve that I remember watching at the time which made sense of what I was experiencing, there did seem to be some sort of connection.

I asked my cardiologist about stopping vitamins.  He said his tests account for all detectable vitamins from sources other than food.  I only need to stop them for a couple of days.  He has me keep records of meds and vitamins I've ingested over the past 10 days and prior and he does his calculations.

Reply to treats I try and eat to bring up the glucose. Sometime I get up 3 times a night and eat something. I don't think food is the issue. A lot of the food they say should help doesn't.  Many mornings my level is 59 and I feel sick, sometimes for hours. It has been recommended I go to an Endocrinologist.
