Testing Siblings

My 6 yr old dd has gluten intolerance (positive AGA IgG), low normal Total IGA but no celiac diagnosis. She is very sensitive to gluten. Her 7 yr old sister has some symptoms that I think are gluten intolerance too and I've asked her doctor for a celiac panel test. Our doc does not think she needs it and is reluctantly allowing it. Since I'm getting the test for her, I don't know why I feel strange about the whole thing. I found a great article on all the signs and symptoms of gluten intolerance and below is what I feel apply to her. Does this sound like it warrants testing, especially since she has a sibling with a positive test?

I started looking into this after reading Melissa Croda's article about being fat and having her doctor say she could not possibly be celiac and I've noticed that my 7 yr old does seem to do better gluten free and she does have weight gain issues, unlike my very small other daughter.

Here are her "Signs and Symptoms Associated with Gluten Intolerance" based on the article I was reading.

Bloating

Canker sores

Lactose intolerance (note: she has dairy allergy)

Acne (she has a problem with molluscum)

Eczema (before going dairy free, it's cleared up now)

Dry skin

Rashes

Itchiness

Dark circles under eyes

Weight gain

Anxiety/fears

ADHD symptoms

Irritability

Ups and downs

Difficulty concentrating

Hi Sue,

The prevalence of celiac disease was 1 of 22 among first-degree relatives and 1 or 39 among second-degree relatives.

As far as I know and I have made severalonline searches, celiac disease disease has not been recognized as a cause of migraines or any eye problems. What I wrote must have been confusing.

Interesting, when I suffered for a few months with ectopics I noticed that carbohydrates would cause indigestion and bloating in my stomach, then that would lead to my heart skipping beats, and I could feel it in my throat, it was very unsettling.  My last serious bout of this was after eating a Muller Rice Pudding for breakfast.   I happened to be wearing a 48 hour halter at the time and cardiology picked it up, but they weren't worried about what they saw. There was some British doctor who'd made some videos on the Vagus nerve that I remember watching at the time which made sense of what I was experiencing, there did seem to be some sort of connection.

I asked my cardiologist about stopping vitamins.  He said his tests account for all detectable vitamins from sources other than food.  I only need to stop them for a couple of days.  He has me keep records of meds and vitamins I've ingested over the past 10 days and prior and he does his calculations.

Reply to treats I try and eat to bring up the glucose. Sometime I get up 3 times a night and eat something. I don't think food is the issue. A lot of the food they say should help doesn't.  Many mornings my level is 59 and I feel sick, sometimes for hours. It has been recommended I go to an Endocrinologist.
