Anyone Turn Down A Biopsy For Their Child?

Jamie's Mom Newbie

Just wanted to follow up and let everyone know that I took my daughter to another Ped GI DR and he said that her bloodwork was enough to determine celiacs disease- he did not recommend the endo at this time. My husband and I are going to be tested- to see if we have it. I am relieved that he did not insist on the biopsy. My gut feeling told me to go to another Dr. This is my youngest child 7 years old. I have two older children that are 25 and 21 years old now, and I have always followed my gut with their medical care as well.

Congratulations on finding a good doctor who appears more interested in the welfare of his young patient than putting her through more testing that wasn't needed!

Now all you have to do is figure which side of the family it came from....it could be both, as in my family. You may want to have the gene testing done to determine this. The gene testing and Celiac blood panel can tell you a wealth of information. Good luck!

That's great news!! It must feel great to have a doctor who is understanding and ready to make a diagnosis without the additional procedures. Good thing you went with your gut! I don

From their website I see "organic barley leaf powder" as an ingredient. Keep in mind that the gluten is in the kernel, and not in the leaves. https://drinkag1.com/about-ag1/ingredients/ctr

Before the rise of social media we were well known by a lot of doctors and were recommended by many, especially our Safe & Forbidden Lists, but as doctors get younger and younger this is probably not happening as much as before.

Thanks Scott I will definitely check my vitamins and minerals to see what I am missing so then I can supplement. I was very concern about my Meniers syntoms and i tryed to find some alive. Now im just realizing that my celiac is provably the root cause of my Meniers none of the 12 doctors I saw told me anything about this.  This web site is so helpful, thanks to people like you we can get answers.

Vitamin D deficiency can contribute to rib pain. Chest pain stemming from the ribs ccould be costochondritis, which involves inflammation of the cartilage connecting the ribs to the breastbone. This pain can range from mild to severe, potentially mimicking heart attack symptoms, and is often worsened by breathing or movement. Other potential causes include muscle strain, rib fractures, or even referred pain from other conditions.  It will also help to chose vegetables low in omega 6.
