Thank you so much to everyone on here that listen to me whine yesterday. Now I feel like a big dope. I dont know what happend to me yesterday. I was tired and hungry and freaked out. My husband came home early to take me to Whole foods. I got some bread that was like eating poison. Even the ducks wont eat it!!!!!TRUE STORY!!!!! Any way I got rice checks and m&ms and Edys ice cream. I think to day is looking better. Did any one on here ever hire a nutritionist? Or is that a waste of money. I dont have money to waste but have an appointment with one but wondering if I really need it. It is $125.00 an hour. Just want some opinions on that. I look forward to having a much better day and hope all of you do too.

And a special thanks to mommagoose

Valerie

There is an edit function! Thank goodness... so you can go back for 48 hours I think if you need to correct some spelling errors.

Stay away from the 10 ton bread. You remember what regular bread tastes like, don't try the gluten-free versions for a while. Or better yet, just bake your own. It's much better!!!

Don't feel like a dope, we've all been there. It's a process. We'll understand when no one else will.

Val,

I am so please that you are feeling better. You have found a support system no better, than here.

I would make sure that you have your blood work done, routinely as you travel through the diet. Some of your numbers were mighty low. I don't often recommend a nutritionist (I never went to one) but in your case, it might be a good choice. It will help you get on track with good foods. ;)

Another great book is Dangerous Grains, by Dr. Peter Green.

Buy the Triumph Grocery Guide and make this site your new best friend. Everything will look up from then on. :D

Hugs, Lisa

Hey friend,

's o.k. I did a lot of that too. It's kinda like being blindsided and vunerable, and having some self determination taken away. It's scary to begin with.

But look at you today, already taking steps in making choices.

You're going to be o.k.

Educate yourself, that's the key.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
