Flour And Bread Mix

I currently use Pamela's mix for pancakes etc and Gluten Free Pantry for bread mix. My son now needs to be dairy and sugar free and I am looking for an all purpose mix and bread mix that taste good. Do you have any suggestions on those items? Thanks for your help.

I use Gluten Free Pantry French Bread Mix and use water. (the instructions say to use either milk or water--I'm sure a milk sub would work, too). The mix itself does not contain dairy. I think it's very good--I make a loaf probably every 2 weeks or so.

Jerseyangel - does it contain brown sugar? Their regular sandwhich bread contains brown sugar and my son really needs to limit his sugar.

I have a box right here--it contains: white rice flour, potato starch, corn starch, guar gum, granulated honey, salt, and a packet of yeast.

Domata flour has dextrin and I don't know how close to a sugar that is, but it is gluten-free and CF too. I like it quite a bit.

I also have a box of "nearly normal" flour here and it looks to fit the bill too. But it does have something called expandex in it and I don't know what the heck that is.

I have also ordered a box of better batter flour-- you might want to check that out too. I think they post the ingredients on Amazon.

Check out Annie's mixes. Not sure about the sugar content, but many of her breads are free of a lot of allergens including yeast. They are a bit pricey, but they are yummy.

I am dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free and use Jules Gluten Free flour--it is the best all purpose flour I've tried and can be used 1-1 in your favorite recipes. Jules has a great cookbook too with tons of dairy free versions of her gluten-free recipes. My family orders it online: www.julesglutenfree.com and always has some on hand. (There's a great new graham cracker mix too!)

      They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

      In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

      @JettaGirl, "Coeliac" is the British spelling of "celiac". Same disease.

      This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.

      I was told it was to see how much damage has been caused. But just told CT with contrast not any other name for it.
