Miss Emily Apprentice

My email response from Burt's Bees. I had requested a list of gluten free products.

Dear Emily:

Thank you for contacting us in regards to a gluten free list, at this

time our gluten free list is being revised and will not be available for

the next 60 to 90 days, after that time frame it should be available on

our website.

We do apologize that we are unable to provide you a gluten free list at

this moment; if you are concerned about a specific product we would be

more than happy to share that gluten information with you. We thank you

for making Burt's Bees your Natural Personal Skin Care company, in the

meantime if you have any additional questions and or concerns, please

feel free to contact us with your inquiries.

Best Regards,

Tiffany K.

I got a similar response, as I had asked as to why you now have to call about specific products. The new list is supposed to be out after some new products are released next month. So now I am curious to see what will be coming out.

I think that you will find that more and more companies will no longer supply a list. It's hard for companies to keep up with accurately. And lists should not be relied on for any extended time.

Most companies will comment regarding a single product if you call them.

Another trend that I am seeing, is restaurants recalling their gluten free menu. People complain when they get sick and the restaurants no longer want to hold that responsibility.

Thanks Scott. They are gluten-free but cross contaminated.

Hi there @MCAyr I have a small umbilical hernia which came about during my second pregnancy.   I can just about see it, and feel it, when I stand or sit, but it is far less noticeable when I lie down.  I always know when I am putting on weight because I can get pain and burning near the site, funnily enough not on the hernia itself but either side!  I would imagine bloating could cause the same effect as weight gain. In my case I don't think it is my bowel protruding but a bit of fat  - sorry,  I realise this isn't painting a very pretty picture.  But in truth it is scarcely noticeable.  It has never really got bigger in size. I was rather hoping that it could be operated on but here in the UK they don't seem to operate on every hernia anymore.  My GP isn't remotely worried about it. In a way, I should be thankful - it is like an early warning system that I need to go on a diet! Cristiana

The hernia description would likely be unrelated to celiac disease, but you'd need to get it checked out by your doctor to be sure it's a hernia.
