hi just wondering if anyone knows if there is a gluten free bakery in america that you can order from and get them to deliver to you... we have one in uk but we are going on holiday to florida in august so just wondering if anyone knows of one over there please thanks

There are many bakery items at the gluten free store. What type of baked goods are you looking for?

There are a lot of places - and there may be one local to the part of Florida you are going to. Can you give us more details?

Whole Foods (visit Open Original Shared Link) has a gluten-free bakery...terrific. I believe they have the gluten-free bakery in their stores in Florida, but you can go to a store locator on their site to find out.

:D thanks everyone we only have pre packed cakes in our stores over here but i found a totally gluten-free bakery in oxford and they cook every thing from sausage rolls and pies to bread and rolls and desserts even birthday cakes.. our son had a sausage roll for the first time since he was 5 yrs old i took photo of him eating it because he actually had tears it made him so happy just ordered him bbq chicken pie and of course more sausage rolls so i was wondering if there was any thing like that over there we order on a monday and its delivered to your door freshly baked within 24hrs and i can place the order and pay for it over the internet its been a new lease of life :D

If they have a phone #, though, I'd double-check to make sure they have a gluten-free bakery...some do, some don't.

      That's interesting - that's a lot of gluten! I'll be very curious to see how my son responds to the gluten. In some ways, I guess having a strong reaction would tell us something? It's tough navigating this as a parent and having it be not so clear cut ;\

      Welcome to the celiac.com community, @JamieAnn! Glad you had a good experience at your local Jersey Mike's. In the town I live in all we have is Subway and they stopped offering gluten free buns. So, I can't eat there anymore. Oh, more recently there has come to our town a Firehouse sub shop and, according to the Internet, they offer gluten free...

      Jersey Mike’s option: Gluten-free bread

      Today, in Uniontown, PA, I ordered Jersey Mike’s Italian sub on gluten-free bread (paid extra for gluten-free) for my brother who hasn’t had a sub in yrs (neorological prob if consumes). For super sensitive celiacs, cross-contamination in handling at these sub shops may also be a problem.

      Most recent gluten challenge guidelines call for the consumption of at least 10g of gluten (about the amount in about 4-6 slices of wheat-based bread) for at least 2 weeks.  When celiacs have been on gluten free diets for long periods of time, they often find that when they consume a good amount of gluten, they react much more strongly than they did before going gluten free. They have lost all tolerance to the poison they had when consuming wheat products regularly. That is certainly the case with me. A couple of years ago I accidentally consumed a wheat biscuit my wife had made thinking it was a gluten free one and it made me violently ill. So, I mention that as I don't know if your son has started the gluten challenge yet.
