Got My Blood Test Results

I received my blood test results on Friday. They were all negative. So, this means I for sure don't have a gluten issue right? I'm not sure about this because after I got the test results, I was happy I could go back to a normal diet so I ate pizza and breadsticks. That was on Saturday and I have been in pain ever since! I had only been gluten free for a week prior. Here are the test results:

IGE-SERUM - 95

TTG AB-IGA NEGATIVE (3)

TTG AB-IGG NEGATIVE (5)

GLIADIN AB IGA NEGATIVE (3)

GLIADIN AB IGG NEGATIVE (4)

I'm not sure what these all mean, but they all state "negative"

Please don't go off just blood tests. There are lots of false negatives and doctors going off blood tests and not looking any farther caused me a great deal of lost years and pain.

What you did by going gluten free and then going back to gluten was a gluten challenge. In your case it appears to have been positive. If you are going to persue an endoscopy you need to go back to eating gluten until that is done. If you are not going to have one go back to the diet.

Were you eating gluten-free when your blood test was taken?

marijoy Newbie

No, I was not eating gluten free at the time of the test. Thanks for the advice, ladies!

They did not run the IgA serum, which would help determine the accuracy of your IgA based results.

None of the tests are perfect. You may still have a problem with gluten, even if it isn't Celiac.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
