I have also noticed that the "Gluten-Free" was removed from their brand of Vienna sausages. I'm wondering the same thing.

I would guess that at least on the vast majority of the items the ingredients didn't change. What probably changed is that some company lawyer got paranoid they'd be sued if someone got gluten. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if somebody (or several somebodies) with celiac did get glutened and made all kinds of noise about suing. There are a lot of people out there who don't realize that screaming "fire" every time they think they've been glutened is bad for the celiac community.

Another reason Walmart might have removed it is that the U.S. in fact has no official standard for gluten-free.

Is the stuff still gluten-free? Well of course oil would be. All Vienna sausages I've ever checked have been. Same with fruit snacks. All you can do is read the ingredients if there's no 800 number to call (and if they won't say gluten-free on the label any more, I doubt they'd say it on the phone).

How would a person know for sure that the gluten came from a particular product? We need to be very careful not to "spook" the companies that are trying to provide the foods we want and need. It would be awfully hard to prove cross contamination, but the resulting law suit could convince the company not to even try to go gluten-free.

Please recheck ingredients from a thread that is a couple of years old.

I think several years ago Wal-Mart did remove their gluten free labels, however, the Great Value products now contain a label that says "Naturally Gluten Free" and most of their products contain a manufacturered on equipment that also processes statement so between the two you can make assumptions based on your own sensitivity.

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
