Introduction From Me In Salem, Oregon

Alice in Wheatland Newbie

Hello,

I have used this site for awhile but have never actually been a forum member. I used to just look up information when I needed it. I figured I'd join now and maybe I can meet some like-minded people as well as be helpful where possible.

My name is Debbie but my friends call me by my middle name, which is Mercy. I live in Salem, Or but spent 27 years as a native New Yorker and then some time in Callie's Bay Area before moving here.

I am a single mom and am a non-diagnosed Celiac. I was sick for a long time before they found out and a long time after until they found out about the casein.

I just thought I'd say hi...so "Hello!"

~Mercy~

Hello, Mercy, and welcome to the forum as a member. We look forward to your valuable contributions. You are not alone in having problems with casein as well as gluten, as you have no doubt found out. Nor are you alone in being undiagnosed :P That seems to be the fate of so many of use. Maybe the diagnostic criteria will change come the enlightenment

I want to thank you so much for the warm welcome. I am glad to be amongst people who understand that I am not mentally ill, depressed, a hypochondriac or any other of the weird stuff that has made me feel so alone.~M

Welcome. I'm also in Oregon, though on the other side of the mountains near Sisters and Bend and Terrebonne and such. Glad to have you!

Hello Mercy. My name is Pamm and I am from Michigan. Today is day 5 of my gluten free journey. I do not think that I have Celiac disease, but I do believe that I am gluten intolerant or at least sensitive. I have been working with my chiropractor who is also a holistic practitioner since July. After realizing that none of her protocols for addressing my issues were working, she suggested that I try a gluten free diet. I received a juicer for Christmas and at that time became willing to do some research into being gluten free. I quickly realized that the symptoms I was most concerned about are the same as those with Celiac disease. So now I am giving it a try. I have struggled with sobiety for over 10 years now. It was interesting to realize that my drinking bouts also initiated cold/sinus issues. It is no wonder since I was ingesting even more gluten every time I drank. I thank God for putting people in my life to help me understand what was going on with my body, and the willingness to change and adopt a healthier lifestyle.

They both do.  The peanuts add nutrients to the treat. Tootsie Roll: Sugar, Corn Syrup, Palm Oil, Condensed Skim Milk, Cocoa, Whey, Soy Lecithin, Artificial and Natural Flavors. But M&M's contain milk, and would not be at all like a Tootsie Roll.

I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets for disability because I show no signs of celiac BECAUSE IM GLUTENFREE! Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver. After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

M&M Peanuts. About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't. Click the links to compare nutritional values.  Both are made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup.  I use them as a gluten free substitute for a peanut butter sandwich.  Try her on grass fed, pasture fed milk. While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I see it everyday on my feeds.  They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts.  I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field.  Some days I would just like to scream.  So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach them properly. I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
