I am going to Las Vegas soon. I am staying at the Palazzo and need to know where to eat?? I have google searched gluten free restaurants in Las Vegas, but it's hard to tell what's actually close to my hotel. Anyone know the area pretty well? We won't have transportation and I really want to be able to walk there. Any ideas? Thanks!

I just came back from Vegas and did lots of research before I went. You can check out my blog for multiple posts: you can find my blog link if you check out my profile.

I am going to Las Vegas soon. I am staying at the Palazzo and need to know where to eat?? I have google searched gluten free restaurants in Las Vegas, but it's hard to tell what's actually close to my hotel. Anyone know the area pretty well? I checked it out, thanks!! I am happy to know the buffet at planet hollywood is a possible option, maybe there are more out there, too? Glad to know I have a few options, I will post if I find anything else out there! Not going til June, so I have some time to research more. Thank you!

Actually, there is a small restaurant in the Palazzo & Ventitian's Canyon Ranch Spa (it called the Canyon Ranch Grill and it is on the Palazzo side) that serves breakfast and lunch (only.) They have a gluten free menu and are both very accommodation and have great healthy food. We ate lunch there almost every day when we stayed at the Ventitian. Honestly, I think it is the most accommodating gluten-free place we found on the strip, so you are lucky to be staying where you are. It is very hard to access (but possible) if you are not staying at the hotel. I just wish they served dinner too. Enjoy your trip.

      Hi again Sorry to be a pain but my daughter started on her Vitamin B medication a week ago, not sure what dosage as she hasn’t said. However she has been feeling much worse the last couple of days with back pain, bowel and tummy problems, blurry vision, tingling. Had GP appointment after work and has been sent to hospital for scan of head and bloods. ...

      Dermatitis Herpetiformis Cleared up With EpiPen, etc.

      I had to rush to the hospital last week due to anaphylactic shock from taking a dose of an antibiotic. Received EpiPen, steroids, antihistamines, zofran (all injected/IV). When I woke up the next day, ALL of the rashes I've had that started since going gluten free were cleared up. EVEN THE dermatitis herpetiformis was gone. Has anyone else experienced this...

      Exactly! Negative genetics can rule out celiac disease with close to 100% certainty. It takes tTg antibody testing and biopsy confirm the diagnosis in a genetically susceptible individual.

      What Dr. Gunn states is essentially true. It is a rule out measure. But be aware that to possess either of the two primary genes that have been identified with celiac disease (or both) doesn't necessarily mean that you have or will develop celiac disease. Almost 40% of the general population carries one or both but only about 1% of the general population...

      Hi again Sorry to be a pain but my daughter started on her Vitamin B medication a week ago, not sure what dosage as she hasn’t said. She should have had other bloods done when she had her B12 and folate done but GP didn’t put them on the list, ie Vitamin D levels, ferritin, thyroid function tests, glucose. She phoned us this morning very upset and worried. Told her it was probably the body’s reaction to the medication and that it might get worse before it gets better. My husband and I live in the Western Isles and she’s in Glasgow so we can’t exactly jump on a bus and be there at the moment. Hoping you have some words of wisdom for me and sorry again for annoying you. Thanks

Has anyone else experienced this or happen to know why that would happen? The meds they gave me were all meds that I've taken to try to resolve the rashes, but they never worked in pill form. I'm wondering if it the addition of the epi that helped, it if injected steroids and antihistamines were what did the job.

It remains latent until triggered by some stress event which may or may not occur. So, there is a genetic component to celiac disease but there is also an epigenetic component.

      Have you had celiac genetic risk testing? A celiac genetic test is accurate with or without gluten in your diet. If you don't carry the celiac risk genes you can effectively rule out celiac disease for life.
