So Sad That celiac disease May Have Caused My Miscarriage :(

I have been battling with infertility and miscarriage for almost two years, now. It may be longer, but we've been try to have another baby for almost two years. I read an article that was posted here about the antibodies involved with celiac disease attaching to and attacking the placenta. My daughter's placenta was not working when she was born, so I wonder if my pregnancy with her triggered my celiac disease. (She's almost 4 years old). I've had problems with my cycle since she was born, but I only very recently put all of the pieces together that I probably have celiac disease.

Anyway, I'm very sad that something as simple as my diet could have prevented a miscarriage and infertility. I'm glad to have a light shone on it finally, but it still sucks. :(

I feel for you. I had a late miscarriage at 16 weeks and I constantly wonder if it was something as stupid as being glutened here and there. The good news is the longer you stay gluten-free the better your chances will get :)

Yes it is sad isn't it? I have had three miscarriages in three years that I blame on gluten. We're trying to wait until I'm a year gluten free now before getting pregnant again to give me the best possible chance of carrying to term.

It looks like no one else has commented on this since last year. It'd be great to read if any of you have an update. It sounds like the four of us could have some common linkage in late miscarriages. I have miscarried at 9 weeks and 18.5 weeks, a pain we are all too aware of. I'd be very interested to know how you're all doing today. I've posted another thread similar to this:

Take care,

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
