So, I Have Been Eating Bread And Such This Past Week....

I've started to take notice of what comes out from what I am putting in lately and I'm noticing my "output" has turned tan and when I look closer at the top of the water I am seeing what I first thought was bubbles but then I realized they are tiny dropplets of oil. Is this what it's suppose to look like with a gluten intolerance?

Thanks once again for helping me to connect the dots of mystery!

Oh and one more thing to add and it's something I have wondered about in the past couple of years but a few times a year (this is why it's so weird) I get a very sharp and very severe pain starting in my stomach and over several hours I can feel every inch of my intestines with nothing to show for it later. No diarrhea or gas and then my poor insides feel bruised for days afterwards. Any idea of what happened? This was during a time where I was gluten-free so now I wonder, since I had been off of gluten so long, if I had been glutened accidentally and I was very sensitive at that time? Does this sound right or maybe just a weird mystery? I wish I knew then what I know now, it may be easier to figure out what happened. I recall that one time I had picked up a protein bar (void of dairy and obvious gluten to me at that time as that is what I was avoiding) and a bottle of water, went and worked out and before I got home I started getting stomach pains in which I spent hours on the couch until the middle of the night curled up in the fetal position in horrible pain. I almost had my husband take me to the ER it was so bad and I have given birth naturally 3 times so it was BAD! It stopped when it got to the end of my intestines and nothing came out like I expected (gas, diarrhea). I'm wondering if I was glutened? Thoughts anybody?

Are you doing a gluten challenge? The oily looking stuff could be undigested fat or it could also be mucous. If your consuming something your body doesn't want it will sometimes produce excess mucous to try and protect itself.

It's definitely not mucous. It literally looks like if you put water into a frying pan you used with some oil on it and let it sit, little oil dropplets form on the top.

I wasn't doing a gluten challenge for me, I was trialing wheat for my nursling to figure out what is bugging her. So far it's dairy, soy, eggs and wheat or maybe gluten? Her diarrhea is so bad with wheat it's pure liquid. :(

Well celiac is hereditary, so looks like you're on the right track ;) If you've been eating lots of gluten up to now, you should consider getting tested first before you go gluten free, would be good to know for your baby whether it's definate or not. Of course, even if the testing all comes back negative, you both might do better without gluten; but for a kid it's pretty harsh to be off gluten if you're not 100% sure (when it's older of course :) )?

I was off for 3 months before trialing and won't be going back on until my baby is weaned.

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?

Thankyou so much for your words. Its a hard battle when a supposed well known hospital whose celiac " specialist " has down played me because my colon looks fine and put it in my medical and so pcp doesn't take seriously. In their eyes we all carry that gene.Im having alot of bad days trying to be positive because of it.
