I was feeling sorry for myself yesterday, so I bought myself one of those rice-crust pizzas, and I did not get remotely achy from the tomato sauce!!! :)

I am back on nightshades... I went off them March 2008.

HAHAHHAHA

so happy. B)

BE WELL EVERYONE!!!

Yeah! Pizza is just not pizza without a little tomato sauce!

Happy for you that you got your pizza back. We do sometimes find that after we have fully healed we can add some stuff back in. Now that you can have it again you may want to look for the Kinnickinnick crusts. At 4 crusts for about $9 they come out much cheaper than buying the ready made ones even once you add in the sauce ( I freeze leftover sauce flat since I only use 1 crust at a time then just break off what I need and thaw in the microwave), Hormel pepperoni and other toppings.

Yay! Isn't it nice when those other intolerances go away? B) I was so happy to put milk in my coffee after a year gluten-free.

I used to get those Kinnickinnick sp? crusts @ my local health food store, but the store closed a few months ago! (bummer, right! ;) HAHAHA One of the owners has Celiac Disease.

But I find Amy's pizzas @ Fred Meyer (Kroeger) they have a great selection of gluten-free foods AND organic foods :)

go-go Skylark!! :):):)

I would ask the store if they could get the Kinni brand for you. Be really careful with Amy's as many have CC issues with them. Gluten Free Pantry makes a French Bread mix that makes a really good pizza crust.

If you like a thin crust. I use rice tortillas. Spray with a little olive oil & bake for about 3 minutes. Then top and bake some more.

yay for you, but i think you should test out the other nightshades- i dont have a problem with tomatoes, but sometimes peppers bother me... but then again, that could be the fructans...

yum, love my tomato sauce :)

Good for you!

I second the gluten free pantry crust. You have to mix it yourself but it's super easy and so yummy. They ought to pay me for all the times I recommend them on here.

Pizza is good with pesto if you are avoiding nightshades. Fresh basil, olive oil, one clove garlic, parmesan or romano cheese, pine nuts are optional but add a nice flavor. Don't forget the salt.

:) I was actually making artichoke-lemon pesto and spreading that on the crust when I was still having troubles with nightshades... was very yummy but not the same.

Be well!

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
