I was doing some research on the ingredients of what's in some cigarettes and I came across this. It dosen't have any wheat that I can see but it does have a lot of othere things that a lot of us with other food intolerances react to. This was last updated in 08, things might have changed since then. Hope you can understand it.

Product Ingredients

R.J. Reynolds List of Ingredients (2008)

Most of these ingredients are commonly used in foods and beverages, or permitted for use in foods by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), or have been given the status "Generally Recognized as Safe in Foods" (GRAS) by FDA, the Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association (FEMA) or other expert committees.

"Maximum level of use" is the highest level of an ingredient used in any brand manufactured by R.J. Reynolds. Levels are based on a dry-weight percentage of the tobacco. For example, .001 equals one, one-thousandth of one percent.

They put those things in different varieties of cigs? Did not know that!

Been thinking of you and your Significant Other ( what to call grown up BF?). Is he quitting smoking? You feeling good?

rdunbar Explorer

What about the cigarette papers? I've been wondering about that.

Hey Kareng,

Thanks for asking. Doin pretty good so far, the smoking is bothering me some and he's trying to slow down at least. He's gone from 4 packs a day down to about 2 and a half. He tried to stay gluten free and he made it for 3 and a half weeks but now for the last week he's been eating gluten out of the truck. He's been good about washing his hands and brushing his teeth before getting back in but I am not happy about one thing. Yesterday he bought some flour tortillas to keep in the truck. I told him I was not touching those with a 10 foot pole and if he wanted them he better be darned carefull not to get them on anything and to make darn sure he didn't put them in my skillet and he better wipe every surface that he touches. We'll see how it goes.

Part of the problem is that he eats like a horse and what I have in the truck is just not enough to satisfy him. I'd have to have at least 5 coolers for what he would eat in a week. Lol and we have 2 now! With his diabetes it makes it even that much harder. I'm trying to think of a more variety for him but he definetly has a problem with nuts so he can't eat a lot of almonds like I do, or peanut butter. Then have to watch the carb and sugar intake. I just get really frustrated. He dosen't like to eat any meats more than twice a week, which is really irritating, but I guess that's just me.

All in all, he has changed his attitude, he's not so condescending any more. Anyway, i'm keeping my fingers crossed. Lol.

kareng Grand Master

Sounds like he may be slow, but trainable! :P

Lol, yes he is, but I have to give him credit he is trying but bless his heart he is still having trouble understanding the cross contamination thing.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.

Your post demonstrates the profound frustration and isolation that so many in the Celiac community feel, and I want to thank you for channeling that experience into advocacy. The medical gaslighting you endured for decades is an unacceptable and, sadly, a common story, and the fact that you now have to "school" your own GI specialist speaks volumes about the critical lack of consistent and updated education. Your idea to make Celiac Disease a reportable condition to public health authorities is a compelling and strategic one. This single action would force the system to formally acknowledge the prevalence and seriousness of the disease, creating a concrete dataset that could drive better research funding, shape medical school curricula, and validate the patient experience in a way that individual stories alone often cannot. It is an uphill battle, but contacting representatives, as you have done with Adam Gray, is exactly how change begins. By framing it as a public health necessity—a matter of patient safety and protection from misdiagnosis and neglect—you are building a powerful case. Your voice and your perseverance, forged through thirty years of struggle, are exactly what this community needs to ensure that no one else has to fight so hard just to be believed and properly cared for.

I had no idea there is a "Louisville" in Colorado!😉 I thought it was a typo because I always think of the Kentucky city--but good luck!
