New Blue Jewel Cafe-

I just visited the NEW Blue Jewel Bakery and Cafe on Ross Road in Nanaimo. They share a space with the old Sausage factory.

I cannot tell you have incredibly impressed I am!!! They have married the gluten free meats with the bakery and made something fabulous. They made me a ham sandwhich on the spot that was to die for. I also took home a pepperoni pizza. I couldnt usually eat that because of the meat having gluten addititves but they have bison pepperoni that was better than any pepperoni I'd ever had. My family was eating pizza too and after tasting mine decided that my crust and pizza was WAY better than theirs. Now that is a first. It was sooooo good. I also bought their butter tart cookies.... and OHHHHH I was in heaven. Soft chewy mouth watering cookies that are huge and delicious. I got their chocolate mint cookies too and they melt in your mouth. I thought the girl giude chocolate mint were great but these are amazing and way better. Tonight for dinner I am trying their greek Grape leaves stuffed with meat.

They have everything from goodies, muffins, sandwhiches, soups, coffees and meat dishes ALL EXCLUSIVELY Gluten free. The lady told me that she decided to go from a regular bakery to a gluten free bakery so they closed shop, and set up on Ross Road with clean equipment and they have succeeded to produce the most incredible gluten free foods. She said she's been baking some gluten free stuff for a while but in the same store as gluton bread with is not a good idea.

I am a person with severe symtoms from my Celiac. If I have microscopic traces of gluten in my food I am very ill, very fast. My whole system seems to shut down. I can attest to the fact tht yesterdy was the first time in my life that I ate really amazing gluten free food that tasted better than glutonous food!! I am blown away and wanted to share my experience!

The Blue Jewel was kind of behind country club mall, on Ross Road, very central for all of us in Nanaimo.

Let me know what you get and tell me how it goes. She also told us to let her know if anyone has any sensitivities to any of her stuff to inform her immediately so they can ensure that they are getting the top quality of dedicated gluten free incredients. That impressed me.

Cheers,

Kirsten E.

They also have the most amazing Nanaimo Bars. The service is slow and it's definitely not a great place to take little kids but it was nice to go out for a sandwich and a treat and not have to ask a million questions.

Awesome! You know where I am off to tomorrow! Nanaimo bars from nanaimo-cannot get better than that! Sorry if this is a repeat. New to this phone...

But M&M's contain milk, and would not be at all like a Tootsie Roll.

I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets for disability because I show no signs of celiac BECAUSE IM GLUTENFREE! Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver. After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

M&M Peanuts. About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't. Click the links to compare nutritional values.  Both are made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup.  I use them as a gluten free substitute for a peanut butter sandwich.  Try her on grass fed, pasture fed milk. While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I see it everyday on my feeds.  They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts.  I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field.  Some days I would just like to scream.  So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach them properly. I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
