Several times in the past 2 weeks now I've had a feeling of not wanting to be doing anything. Today I've tried twice to take a nap and I can't sleep. It's a feeling as though it's alarming to go do something. And I don't feel like doing anything, I just want to lie down. I don't like this feeling and it's making me feel pressured and panicked about doing things I need to get done. I hope this makes some kind of sense to someone on this forum.

Feeling completely unmotivated to do anything? Like, not even fun things? Sort of listless, but with anxiety over everything you should be doing?

I felt this way a lot before starting my gluten-free diet, and it was the one thing I noticed a huge difference on. I think I experienced a brief return of this after eating gluten, but I attributed it to being tired.

Are you having any glutened symptoms that you have noticed? For me feeling like that is what I feel the first day after I have been glutened. Feeling like that could also be a sign of depression.

Hah! I must be depressed then. Lately always feel unmotivated.

Sparks you hit the nail on the head!!!I felt this way as well before going gluten free coupled with terrible depression and angry mood swings, boy i must of been a joy to around. I am so lucky my kids and husband love me reguardless!I mean physically this diet has helped me alot but mental wise its a TREMENDOUS difference.Feels so good to be NORMAL =)

CC is a distinct possibility. The first two times it happened I was pretty sure I had been CC'ed the last 2 times I've been clueless what could have gotten me. Of course I work at Home Depot so I'm exposed to dry wall dust and wheat straw on a regular basis. Also my dogs still eat gluten so I may be getting my self with the dog food.

My Dr put me on 10 mg Prozac when he told me he suspected I am gluten intolerant. I have felt far less depressed since being gluten free but the feeling I had today was certainly depressing.

Thank you all so much. I feel much better just knowing it makes sense to others. Thank you.

I was taking medicine for sibo but it was not agreeing with my stomach at all.Was on gabapentin but it amps me up.I was taking in morning because it wasn't allowing me to sleep. This has always been an issue with medicine and me.Even going to dentist, the good shot that numbs you once, I can't take because it makes my heart beat fast and I  get the shakes.I have to take the crappy stuff and get injected always more than 4 times always. Its infuriating

If you successfully digest gluten with enzyme supplements so it won’t give you side effects, your challenge won’t be worthwhile because the digested fragments of gluten also won’t stimulate antibody production or cause intestinal damage.

You can search this site for prescriptions medications, but will need to know the manufacturer/maker if there is more than one, especially if you use a generic version of the medication: To see the ingredients you will need to click on the correct version of the medication and maker in the results, then scroll down to "Ingredients and Appearance" and click it, and then look at "Inactive Ingredients," as any gluten ingredients would likely appear there, rather than in the Active Ingredients area. https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/
