Olive Oil

Has anyone else had problems with olive oil. I didn't realize that it wasn't 100% olive oil so possibly it had an oil we are supposed to

avoid. I am new to this and still learning every day.

thanks

I don't know what "olive oil" you are using, but the olive oil I use is 100% pure olive oil. If something else is present, it would have to be declared in the ingredient list (at least in the US and Canada). Oil from another source would have an explicit name (e.g. peanut oil) or just be listed as "vegetable oil." But "olive oil" as an ingredient can only refer to pure olive oil.

ya, im pretty sure it's ONLY Olive oil- and i sure as hell hope so... cause i have to avoid a lot of things in addition to gluten. i did see an article that exposed that the food companies were being dishonest about grading their olive oil. ie: some bottles that say Xtra Virgin are not really xtra virgin, but just regular.

I have had problems with olive oil. I don't know if it is from adulteration or not. Here is a source Open Original Shared Link

I did find an olive oil I could tolerate after several attempts. I am very sensitive, hopefully you will find one more easily.

Yes, @trents is right, ascorbic acid can be irritating.  Do you take it with food? Do you take other supplements or vitamins? Do you eat processed meats?   Is your diet high in carbohydrates?

Be careful with C supplementation. It's ascorbic "acid". Too much can cause stomach and gut irritation.
