Hello all, glad to be a member. Biopsie confimed it 3 days ago, and I've been staying clear of gluten the best I can for a 1 1/2 weeks now, and doing very well considering I have been living with this problem for many years. The digestive specialest receptionist call me to confirm, Doc recomend I start a gluted free diet, plenty of info on the internet, and follow up with him in 4-6 weeks to address and concerns or questions I may have. $35 copay + what insurance pays.

Should I expect more?

Generally doctors don't give us much info beyond telling us that we should start a gluten-free diet.

But you've come to the right place! :D You might want to search through the forum to see if you can find the info you need. And ask whatever questions you may have.

And welcome!

When first Diagnosed GI specialist didn't give much infomation aside from staying away from gluten.Fortunately living in the Boston area I found a GI that specialized in Celiac and he is wonderfull. As other have already mentioned I get my most valued information from this forum.Beside information the support and feeling like you are not alone is good also.Good luck.

Interesting, when I suffered for a few months with ectopics I noticed that carbohydrates would cause indigestion and bloating in my stomach, then that would lead to my heart skipping beats, and I could feel it in my throat, it was very unsettling.  My last serious bout of this was after eating a Muller Rice Pudding for breakfast.   I happened to be wearing a 48 hour halter at the time and cardiology picked it up, but they weren't worried about what they saw. There was some British doctor who'd made some videos on the Vagus nerve that I remember watching at the time which made sense of what I was experiencing, there did seem to be some sort of connection.

I asked my cardiologist about stopping vitamins.  He said his tests account for all detectable vitamins from sources other than food.  I only need to stop them for a couple of days.  He has me keep records of meds and vitamins I've ingested over the past 10 days and prior and he does his calculations.

Reply to treats I try and eat to bring up the glucose. Sometime I get up 3 times a night and eat something. I don't think food is the issue. A lot of the food they say should help doesn't.  Many mornings my level is 59 and I feel sick, sometimes for hours. It has been recommended I go to an Endocrinologist.
