Kirkland Walnuts From Costco

The package does say these come from a plant that shares lines with wheat products, but I thought I'd give them a try...I seem to get abdominal cramps after eating them though...wondering if anyone else had ever had an issue with them. I'm new to gluten-free, so don't really know yet what a typical gluten reaction is for me, and haven't been diagnosed yet because I've been feeling quite a bit better since starting the diet and don't really want to go back to gluten just to get a diagnosis! My abdominal cramps haven't completely gone away, but are off and on, and the past couple times i've had these walnuts, I've noticed the cramping gets worse.

I've been chomping on those Kirkland walnuts happily for the past few weeks for what it's worth. Great price, huh?

Try soaking them overnight with a little salt in the water to get rid of the phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors and make them more digestible. Heck, maybe I washed any gluten off mine with the soaking.

Too many walnuts have always given me stomach cramps, even if I'm picking them off the tree.

FernW Rookie

Yes me too, too may walnuts always give me cramps.

NorthernElf Enthusiast

I have been eating these for months on top of my breakfast with no problem.

The dried blueberries & cherries DO bother me (they are on shared equipment).

It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.

Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!

That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.

Same day which is strange to me.

Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
