:) hope you're having a good day Kyle! I too feel like people understand me, my worries, my concerns, my psychoses :) here better than anywhere else! I personally feel like this is the best online community I've ever encountered.

On the parent note, I have one stellar parent and one despicable parent...we don't (unfortunately) get to choose our parents or our genes (bummer!)...I spent plenty of time in my twenties and thirties upset about the parenting (or lack thereof) I'd received (somehow I purged that from my system in my thirties and I'm glad I did!). I was (am) an awesome kid! I get the sense from you too that you are a gem! It's hard to be so grown up all the time, but all the hard work you're doing and all the responsibility you're taking in finding your own path to health will serve you well in the long term.

I think you're impressive!!! Cheering for you!

Thankyou...made my day....its just so hard doing this alone...and not having the resources available to get on top of this like i should.....

thankyou for the kind words....def appreciated....

also im having a bit of a problem finding a complete b vitamin that doesnt have some form of soy in it.... :(

b1 and b6 only....and i added zinc just to see what happens....the only bad thing i can think of is over doing it....i stopped the iron.... casue of metalic taste in mouth...it has since subsided.....

still getting wicked tracers when im super stressed......i feel there could be a connection here ...any good info on vitamin deficiencies and vision correlations or even someone who has experienced this themselves....please post

thanks again ...your words were nice to hear :)

I didn't have actual tracing tracers but there were some peripheral vision flashy sparks for a while. It was on & off but hasn't happened in a couple yrs now.

I found photopsia sounded similar, but was full field of vision.

Kyle, I needed a multi vitamin that did not contain soy. Also I had to have one that did not contain iodine or dairy (b/c of the iodine) or iodized salt because I have dh & the iodine really makes it flare. I searched far & wide. I came up with this: Solgar brand --- their "Vitamins Only" multi. No sugar, starch, salt, yeast, wheat, soy, gluten, dairy or iodine. I know Vitacost sells them online --- that's where I get them from. You can Google Solgar's website & see the stats or see the same a Vitacost.

I take Co-Enzyme Vitamin B Complex by Country Life. That's really helped me, since my B vitamins were out of whack.

Hey Kyle,

I've been thinking about the vision part. Definitely go to a good doctor. Even if you can't afford it, call the best doctor and be SUPER SUPER NICE. Tell them "I've been told that Dr. X is the best doctor to see and I have a very complex case he/she might be interested in. I really need help to figure this out and I think Dr. X is about the only one who could figure it out. I apologize in advance that I'm on xyz insurance. I have to tell you I am responsible financially and will make sure we can work out an arrangement for me to uphold my financial responsibility. That aside, I'm hoping I can see him/her on (name a day) this week. What time would be available that day?"

Okay, now to what I call, "Floaters." I have had floaters off and on for about a decade (note: my kids are newly diagnosed Celiac and I'm just figuring out I may be...after all these years...). I have no idea if floaters (wiggly things that are in my field of vision) are connected to Celiac or not. Here's what I've heard/noticed specifically for me over the years:

- Floaters appear when I'm dehydrated

- Floaters appear after I've exercised (usually in about an hour)

- Floaters appear when I'm in bright sunlight

Some thoughts:

- Are you drinking enough?

- Are your electrolytes balanced?

- Can you dim your computer screen? Can you brighten the room so the computer screen isn't the only bright light?

For now, see if you can get some basics balanced: blood sugar, water/electrolytes, sleep. I know you have 99 other things on your mind too...

:) Do what you need to do to get healthy: be persuasive, stretch the truth, be pushy, be demanding, charming, show up with a box of chocolates to the eye doctors, etc. It's your health and you're doing an amazing job. Sounds like vision is top of mind for you at the moment, so go tackle it. Keep us posted! Cheering, as always!

yes electrolytes are balanced tested at er... i drink water all day.....sleep that is another thing.....i was severely sleep deprived up until the point that the vision changed then started gluten free but was still having sleep problems due to stress and anxiety over all this...and i was workingn ights so i was/still am up lateeeee.....also, the whole "everyone telling me i was crazy and it was all in my head" before i went into a diabetic come a yearish ago.....that really messed with me .....so my train of though is the same here....they say im ok....but i still feel weird....now lemme say....leaps and bounds different.....ive never had this much energy...getting through entire dayz without wanting/needing to take a nap is fantastic....

btw i dont have health insurance.....im going to do everything but rob a bank this month to scrape up enough cash to get it...found a state sponsored program that will cover me for health but its insanely expensive...

and i quit my job with a quickness once i started having allergic reactions to work after i had started to go gluten free ( worked in a restaurant , believe flour in air may have been problem )...was having asthma attacks after work and sinus problems that normally i would have ran to doc for and gotten antibiotics but now believe it was an allergic reaction the whole time :(

its my experience that with doctors and offices if you have insurance they will do anything for you as long as you can pay.....when i was dealing with the whole " i have a bone infection but really its diabetes fiasco" we did the whole charming...demanding....we will do anything stuff and it worked....they just didnt figure out the problem....

but i dont have insurance and all i get are referrals to health care clinics....however i am going to go to one to have vitamin levels checked because that would show what i really need to get cracking on.....

i think the only reason my doc still sees me now is so i dont sue him for not checking bloodsugar levels the 8 million times he took blood from me from 24-26 years of age....and always said " its allergies" :(

:) yes, rock and a hard place for sure! Hang in there! And, you are smart to leave a toxic environment (the restaurant). That must have been a difficult decision to make. Keep making the difficult, smart, healthy decisions you are.

thankx for all the help guys....if anyone knows a cheap way to find out if your anemic or if you are severly deprived of certain vitamins that could help?

I had a very rough month after diagnosis. No exaggeration, lost so much inflammatory weight, I looked like a bag of bones, underneath i had been literally starving to death. I did start feeling noticeably better after a month of very strict control of my kitchen and home. What are you eating for breakfast and lunch? I ignored my doc and ate oats, yes they were gluten free, but some brands are at the higher end of gluten free. Lots of celics can eat Bob's Red Mill gluten-free oats, but not me. I can now eat them, but they have to be grown and processed according to the "purity protocol" methods. I mail order them, Montana Gluten-Free brand. A food and symptoms and activities log can be helpful in tracking down issues. You might be totally aware, but I have to mention about the risk of airborne gluten. As the doc that diagnosed me warned . . Remember eyes, ears, nose, and mouth all lead to your stomach and intestines.  Are you getting any cross contamination? Airborne gluten? Any pets eating gluten (they eat it, lick themselves, you pet them...)? Any house remodeling? We live in an older home, always fixing something. I've gotten glutened from the dust from cutting into plaster walls, possibly also plywood (glues). The suggestions by many here on vitamin supplements also really helped me. I had some lingering allergies and asthma, which are now 99% gone. I was taking Albuterol inhaler every hour just to breathe, but thiamine in form of benfotiamine kicked that down to 1-2 times a day within a few days of starting it. Also, since cutting out inflammatory seed oils (canola, sunflower, grapeseed, etc) and cooking with real olive oil, avocado oil, ghee, and coconut oil, I have noticed even greater improvement overall and haven't used the inhaler in months! It takes time to weed out everything in your life that contains gluten, and it takes awhile to heal and rebuild your health. At first it's mentally exhausting, overwhelming, even obsessive, but it gets better and second nature.

Hi,  I care for my seven year old daughter with Celiac. After watching her for months, I have figured out that she has problem with two kinds of fats- animal fat and cooking oils. It basically makes her intestine sore enough that she feels spasms when she is upset. It only happens on days when she has eaten more fat than her usual every day diet. (Her usual diet has chia seeds, flaxseeds, and avocado/ pumpkin seeds for fat and an occasional chicken breast.) I stopped using cooking oils last year, and when I reintroduced eggs and dairy, both of which I had held off for a few months thinking it was an issue of the protein like some Celiac patients habe mentioned to be the case, she has reacted in the same fashion as she does with excess fats. So now I wonder if her reaction to dairy and eggs is not really because of protein but fat.   I don't really have a question, just wondering if anyone finds this familiar and if it gets better with time.  Thank you.

Hello, My name is Chanda and you are not the only one that gose through the same things. I have found that what's easiest for me is finding a few meals each week that last. I have such severe reactions to gluten that it shuts my entire body down. I struggle everyday with i can't eat enough it feels like, when I eat more I lose more weight. Make sure that you look at medication, vitamins and shampoo and conditioner also. They have different things that are less expensive at Walmart.

Thank you so much! I saw some tips around the forum to make a food diary and now that I know that the community also struggles with corn, egg and soy, the puzzle pieces came together! Just yesterday I tried eating eggs and yes, he’s guilty and charged. Those there are my 3 combo nausea troublemakers. I’m going to adjust my diet ☺️ Also thank you for the information about MCAS! I’m from South America and little it’s talked about it in here. It’s honestly such a game changer now for treatment and recovery. I know I’m free from SIBO and Candida since I’ve been tested for it, but I’m still going to make a endoscopy to test for H. Pylori and Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). Thank you again!! Have a blessed weekend 🤍

Yes, I, too, have osteoporosis from years of malabsorption, too.  Thiamine and magnesium are what keep the calcium in place in the bones.  If one is low in magnesium, boron, selenium, zinc, copper, and other trace minerals, ones bone heath can suffer.  We need more than just calcium and Vitamin D for strong bones.  Riboflavin B 2, Folate B 9 and Pyridoxine B 6 also contribute to bone formation and strength.   Have you had your thyroid checked?  The thyroid is important to bone health as well.  The thyroid uses lots of thiamine, so a poorly functioning thyroid will affect bone heath.
