Ulcers?

My daughter had ulcers where they found the celiac. The first doctor said, "Oh, it could be the start of Chrones." I immediately burst into tears. The second opinion said, "They were found where the celiac was found and I think they were caused by the celiac. She would have symptoms if she had Chrones." Anyone else have ulcers that were healed by gluten-free?

I have had in the past and have now suspected ulcers which they think were due to all the damage I have done eating gluten. No mention of Crohn's as I haven't any of the other symptoms. My son has Esophagus ulcers due to gluten as well. So yes - entirely possible its caused by coeliac.

I don't know about ulcers, I never had an endoscopy. But I had bleeding and that stopped.

I had stomach ulcers when I was 9 and 18 - they saw them on a barium X-ray (@ 18).

Are you referring to mouth ulcers? If so coeliac disease can manifest as mouth ulcers, as can Chron's disease. It is more common in Chron's disease though. (Im a dental student and I recently had a lecture on this :) )

No, she doesn't have mouth ulcers. She had them in her duadenal bulb (sp?) which was the only spot where her celiac was found.

      Gluten free Yogurt suggest

      I would not think store bought yogurt would contain gluten unless it possibly could be through an added flavoring or coloring ingredient. Otherwise, it should be naturally gluten free. Keep in mind that some companies are capitalizing on people's fears and ignorance (nothing personal intended) by labeling foods "gluten free" that are just that way by...

      FDA looking for input on Celiac Gluten sensitivity labeling PLEASE READ and submit your suggestions

      I believe the GFCO does use a common logo for certified gluten free products (those containing not more that 10ppm of gluten) but nothing universal yet from the FDA for standard gluten free products (those containing not more that 20ppm).

      I have a One Pot and decided to start using it one day. I was hesitant at first making my own yogurt, but was surprised at how easy it was. I like mine better too.

      Because I spend so much time reading every word on all food packaging, I personally would greatly appreciate it if there was one common gluten-free symbol written in large-enough text, and always located in the same place. That alone will make shopping easier and faster. I dread having to buy packaged food. Thank you very much for asking,

      I do believe that people are under so much pressure up have a sleeping pattern , with working and how households work these days , but in reality there is no wrong or right at to sleep , I believe your neighbour showed this with such a long life , I do exactly the same at night many times so I hope I live into my nineties also , I have found one thing...

Otherwise, it should be naturally gluten free.  Keep in mind that some companies are capitalizing on people's fears and ignorance (nothing personal intended) by labeling foods "gluten free" that are just that way by the nature of what they are. They are hoping to create a marketing edge over their competitors by adding "gluten free" because they know it may catch attention of those new to the celiac/gluten sensitivity experience without having to cost them anything in the way of changing their manufacturing process or doing testing.
