Pounding Heart, Red Skin, Numb At Night.

Hey guys,

I've been down a long road to diagnosis lately. Curious if these few specific symptoms might be related. I frequently wake up in the middle of the night with my heart POUNDING, but last night it pounded all night and still is this morning as I wake up in bed. My skin is flushed red all over and as usual parts of me are numb and tingling.

Sound familiar? Thanks for any thoughts!

To me, that sounds like an allergic reaction. My heart pounding is one of the first symptoms I get before mine escalates.

I had these symptoms when I was very ill from long-undiagnosed celiac.

I do not have any allergies. I was tested repeatedly. It was an inflammatory response in me from gluten.

I can get a pounding heart, rashes, red skin, parasthesia, etc.-- from an accidental glutening.

It is rare I am "hit", but it happened just last week, and when I was up half the night with a pounding heart and burning skin sensations --it was my first clue what was to come.

Thanks so much IrishHeart...as if I needed any more evidence that I have Celiac... :X

Hon, there are so many symptoms related to celiac that it is difficult to determine what is caused by gluten and what OTHER conditions are occurring in conjunction with it.

I am saying I had these symptoms, yes, but they are also similar to symptoms of high blood pressure and allergies, too. Numbness and tingling are neuropathy, often found with celiac, but also with diabetes. See what I mean? I have read articles where Celiac is dubbed "The Great Mimic" because it manifests like so many other conditions (and explains why we get so many diagnoses --often the wrong ones--as we await the REAL one).

Keeping a list of your symptoms (for yourself and your doctor) is beneficial. I have a list 4 pages long. Not kidding. Dozens of symptoms developed and now, I enjoy crossing them off one by one as the months unfold.

Have you brought this up with your doctor? Do you have a home blood pressure tool? If you do you may want to take your BP when this is happening and write it down to take with you to the doctor. Having your heart pound so hard it wakes you up could be a sign of a serious problem so do run it by your doctor just to be on the safe side.

But M&M's contain milk, and would not be at all like a Tootsie Roll.

I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets for disability because I show no signs of celiac BECAUSE IM GLUTENFREE! Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver. After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

M&M Peanuts. About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't. Click the links to compare nutritional values.  Both are made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup.  I use them as a gluten free substitute for a peanut butter sandwich.  Try her on grass fed, pasture fed milk. While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I see it everyday on my feeds.  They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts.  I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field.  Some days I would just like to scream.  So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach them properly. I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
